Happy Gotcha Day, Elliott

It's a year today..in fact almost a year to the minute that we decided Elliott ...then known as "Kidd" ... would stop being a stray and become an indoor cat.

He's gone from a scared of his own shadow, so dirty he was almost gray cat to a very sure of himself 17 pound love bug with a beautiful white coat.

I told him a little while ago that today was his "Gotcha Day"...he was lounging on the couch grooming Gracie at the time...they were both unimpressed
He looked at me as if to say "Hey, I'm cute of course you guys took me in"
Gracie was like "Stop talking to him and let him finish washing my ears!!"

Happy Gotcha Day, Elliott!!! I'm so glad you gave him a home!

Many Happy Returns!!!

I was talking to my neighbor earlier this morning and since Elliott spent most of his time on her back porch before we moved here, she also remembered that it was a year ago yesterday that we took him in.

She said "It looks like he's forgiven us for getting his tail stuck in the carrier door."
I'm forgotten all about that...at the time we had one of those plastic carries with the door in the front...I've since replaced them with soft sided ones that have a zipper on either end....he did NOT want to go into the carrier that night.
We finally got him in and when we went to shut the door we caught his tail in it...poor little guy let out such a scream
I think that's one of many memories from his "Outside Life" that he's forgotten.
