My 1 year old male cat Cairo has one eye that he will not open, rather he will leave it closed or he will squint it. There is not any discharge around the eye and when I gently pull it open it is not red or inflammed, it looks normal. I am bringing him into the vet tomorrow just to be safe but in the mean time im sitting here wondering what the heck it could be? I tried using a warm compress in case he got an eyelash or piece of fur stuck in his third eyelid but nothing. He is a healthy boy and does not have feline herpes as far as his last vet visit. Any thoughts?

From what I've read on the internet, squinting is a sign of eye pain in cats. That's one thing about cats - they can be having pain and you wouldn't even know it, in that they don't complain or anything.

If your regular vet doesn't diagnose anything, you might want to have him looked at by a veterinary opthamalogist, just to be on the safe side.

Best wishes for you and your guy.

He could've had something touch his eye....it could be an eye infection....it could be something on the inside of his eyelide....you're vet will know.
