I always get semi negative comments when people find out how many pets I have. I didn't think it was that bad, but other people sure do! I actually want at least one more dog, before I am settled with the number of animals I own
...... of course once I move out to my own farm the number of cats and dogs outside will probably go up

Tell me how may animals you own and if people think you are crazy too.

I have:

3 cats
1 dog
1 rat
1 horse
and fish

All but the horse are indoors

Not anymore. right now I only have two cats, two mice (permanent fosters) and 5 fish. That's not too crazy.

In the past, I've lived in a house with other people and over the years we had anywhere between 3-6 cats, 0-2 dogs, 0-1 rabbit, 0-4 rats, 4-7 turtles, 0-1 lizard and many fish. (out of those, one cat, one dog, the rabbit, all the rats and almost all the fish were mine).
And yes, people did think we were crazy.

I have 5 cats and two dogs.
And people do think I'm crazy. But really, at least 2 of the cats wouldn't have had homes otherwise...

Some people say it about the cats. I have 3 cats and 2 dogs. It was worse when I had 6 hamsters too. I live in a big house which fits all the animals. If it was a smaller house, it would be too many.

I bought him from the pet store. Don't shoot me

He's a sweet little guy too. He was letting me rub his belly in the store today but he's a little nervous tonight which is understandable. I've have MANY pet rats over the years.
I find they are more even tempered then hamsters, gerbils or guinea pigs

That's were I got mine from too.
She's a blue sheilded, so she was considered a "fancy rat". They are probably the best rodent pet, in my opinion

Sometimes.

I find it annoying when rescue organization think of it as negative. When I adopted Daezi, they were a bit skeptical about the number of pets I owned. I dont understand why, it's not like I'm too busy to care for all of them or am an animal collector or something.

Most people are okay with the two dogs, but are pretty amused by the 5 cats.
But I guess it's different in my case, considering I live in the country.

I really want some chickens or goats. But I think I'll wait til next year for that...haha

No one bats an eye about the cats, it's the reptiles that get comments. 18 now with two eggs set to hatch at the end of this month - beginning of next.

WOW!!! Are you a breeder then? And what kind are they?

An oops clutch of eight overwintered baby ornate box turtles that surprised me, then several weeks ago I found yet another yearling in my male turtle's pen...snacking out of his food dish.

(Momma turtle was stolen out of large pen in May 2006
) The babies and male are outside in their pens, hibernating.

I let my goldens geckos breed last December. Lost three eggs because the mother stuck her eggs on inappropriate surfaces, one infertile, and three hatches.
I mostly let them breed because I really like golden geckos, and no one really breeds them or knows exactly how long they live. So when my older ones finally pass on in old age, I'll have a few of their kids.

No intentions to sell. I would only consider parting with any of my turtles or geckos if I knew they were going to very very good homes with experienced people, just like anyone who has had to rehome kittens and cats.

I also have three leopard geckos, no intention to breed them at all. The species it too abundant in petstores and too many meet sad ends. (Overpopulation problem...)
Searching in the pet pictures for hatchlings or baby boxies should bring up pictures I've posted before.

Definitely! Since we just added the two kittens (making the total cat count 5), I've gotten nothing but weird looks! Last year for Christmas (when I had 3 cats) my mom got me a "Cat Lady" Russian nesting doll.

Yes, they do. Not sure why though, I don't really have that many. And only one cat, 3 dogs.
