Grandma's always seem to think you DON'T know how many pets you have. Mine did the same thing, of course, my number isn't quite up to ten....yet

I only get strange looks when I refer to my Limerick as my baby. Even stranger when I told someone that my cat loves that baby blanket!! haha

My mom has a couple birds and I don't think I would ever feel safe with the birds being loose and the cats being in the same area!
I get asked that alot.

The tiels have their own room.
The cats arn't allowed in it. They have all been taught not to mess with birds but I will never trust them around small birds.

The macaws cage is in the dining room and they really don't mess with him. He is huge so they don't see him the same way they would a little bird. They know he has a big beak and that he is boss.

Bosco actually likes him and would love to be his best friend.
He wants Charlie to "pet" him but I don't like that because cats saliva is not good for birds and can make them really sick.

Thats a good one!

We've just got 2, and people say "2 CATS?!
" While they have 2 dogs or something
Cats are much easier to care for than dogs are!

We are working on getting our 3rd kitty (possibly) and people say... "THREE?!"

I say- GET OVER IT! They are well cared for (very spoiled!), fed good food, and our apartment doesn't smell of cats. People walk in & will say... I thought you had cats?

Thats a real compliment right there!

No, people don't think I'm crazy because of the number of pets I own...
...They think I'm crazy because of how much I love them!

People always think I'm crazy. Maybe I am!

I currently have:
13 cats (10 indoor, 1 indoor/outdoor, 1 barn cat, and one that belongs to John's dad but lives with us)
4 indoor dogs
1 horse

I could see that. You charge for them to come look at them right

Well, we only have two cats, a dog, and some fish. I don't think that's a lot.. a few people I know have the same amount, if not more than us.

All the time! We have:

3 cats
1 Dog
2 Neutered Rats
1 Savannah Monitor

That's just the indoor pets. We also have two opossums, two outdoor cats, three squirrels and countless mice who are fed outdoors.

Within the next two years we will probably be adding another dog and another cat to our family as well. We are *confirmed* animal people!

6 cats
1 dog
1 parrot
1 tarantula
and 1 fish.

Not too terrible
At one time (when I was doing exotic rescue and lived in a house)
I had 60 birds including a raven in rehab, 4 cats, 4 rats, 2 pythons, 6 cornsnakes, 1 very large male iguana, 1 female russian tortoise, two mixed species herptariums (tree frogs, house geckos and anoles) and two 55 gallon aquariums, one with a tiger oscar, and 1 planted community tank with 5 tetra species (about 20 fish total).

Right now, I have 5 indoor cats, and I don't know how many strays that we feed (I think that there are 9, but those are the ones I actually see.
.). The most indoor cats I've ever had at one time were 7.

I've been called the "crazy cat-lady" on more than one occasion. I wear the name w/ pride!

Yeah, whenever I tell people that we have seven cats, three cockatiels, and two fish (and at one point, a Min Pin puppy), they give me that shocked look and ask me if I live at a zoo or something. o_o And I go to Vet Tech school, so you'd think that'd be common there. =3

My hubby is even worse than me. I found a lab at the dog park alone, and he was like, "why didn't you bring it home?" (I called Animal Control, and they eventually reunited him with his owner.)

My friends/family don't think it's weird because they're all animal lovers like we are. But my wicked mil had something smart to say about our animals
she can kiss my butt for all i'm concerned- i love my animals WAY more than her rude remarks
I'll leave it at that.

I have:

2 dogs (Australian Shepherd & Carolina Dog
4 cats (2dhs, 1 colorpoint, 1 turkish angora)
1 betta (I used to have about 10 bettas - i LOVE fish! I had an 80 gallon when i lived back at home- i'm planning on starting up a salt water aquarium sometime down the road)

All of them are indoors only!

I also have 1 foster kitten right now- sometimes i have a whole litter of kittens, sometimes it's a foster dog or two....it just depends. I have a lot of foster animals in and out of our house. My coworkers don't think it's weird at all though- because most of them have more animals than i do
One of my coworkers has 8 dogs and 1 cat
