Do People Think You are Crazy When They Find Out How Many Pets You Have???

We have seven cats. Yes people think we are crazy but at the same time we are the first people they think of when they find a stray.
I'm trying to find the traits people find interesting in rats and mice?
I've been dissecting them all my teenage life for various biology classes. Thankfully we no longer use those in my medical formation, but every time I see a rat or a mouse, I feel the urge to take a scalpel and open him up to look at his inside (after putting him under...), then suture him up and give him a treat for being a good boy and helping me learn.
Am I the only one to think like this?

7 house cats(5 of mine, 2 foster hellions)
7 farm cats
1 kitty in limbo
2 large housedogs @ 60 & 90 lbs.
5 fish
1 Gerbil

I hear "Wow!" alot.
I have 10 cockatiels (used to have more...rehomed a couple babies and had a death recently, R.I.P Baby)
1 blue and gold macaw
and 6 cats, now the strays are coming and I might have one more kitten and we have Moose the stray back....he was gone for months.
Its alot of work but so worth it.

I've got 6 cats presently but I've had as many as 11 at one time [4 were 'mine' and 7 were from my sister, that I took in 'cause her dogs were killing her cats, but THAT'S another story of it's own].
I don't tell anyone how many cats I've got. Only my one sis knows who all they are. Everyone else is totally disinterested, except for my next door neighbor and her family, who seem to have a morbid interest in how many animals I've got. Don't know why. I never tell them the exact number. All they want to do is talk about me, I guess.

Yes everyone thinks I am nuts! People are amazed at the amount of cats we have
I dont think its that many we only have 6 cats, 2 dogs which are over 100lbs each, and a guniea pig, I had a bunny but she moved over the rainbow bridge over the summer after a wonderful 10 years together
When i added Sophie only a couple of people replied with "Two cats?!" Then when i added Jack a couple said "THREE!!!!!!"
I usually reply with "And, got a problem have we?!"

Do people think I am crazy about having so many animals at home? No, but they do say I am crazy for caring more for animals than people.

I only get weird looks when I tell people how many aquariums I have.

I've even turned to some and said "And how many kids do you have again?!"

Not anymore. Just the 3 cats and a 10 gallon aquarium.

I have around 25 bettas. The stores know me as "The Crazy Betta Girl" .... Although I have alot of bettas, my numbers are nothing compared to some breeders
.... They have hundreds!!

yeh I have lots of people think I'm nuts do to that, my grandma counted out my animals on the phone (10) and just kept saying "Ten Amy? Ten?" I'm still working on finding homes for 2 of the bunnies I saved though, 1 is going to the neighbor and 1 will be staying with me to bond to my other rabbit.
