I am so exhausted this morning!

Max is so adorable. He hid out until close to 1 a.m., then I went looking for him, found him under my bed. As soon as he saw that I was looking for him, he became Mr. Purrrrrrrsonality, coming out and making a spectacle of himself on top of my bedclothes.

This boy purred up a storm, not just rolling over to show me his belly, but WRITHING on his back in front of me - it was quite shameless, actually.

He's gorgeous, and a dollbaby, and Teri wasn't lying about the headbutting!!!

Once he was sure that he'd stolen my heart, he began exploring my room, from what seemed like the top down - he climbed to the top of EVERYTHING, knocking over all kinds of stuff.
Penny may not act like a full Bengal, but oh boy, we are in for it now, because this boy is fearless!

With his help, I shall be rearranging just about everything decorative in my apartment, I think.

He's now meowing up a storm in there, not wanting to be left alone. Ginger is skulking about out here; I think she wants to get a good face-to-face so she can tell him who is bosscat.

Ferris is in hiding again - I think he is under my roomie's bed - he wouldn't come when I called and offered treats.

And Penny...oh Auntie Penny...she is NOT having this. She hissed at me already about 5 times this morning as I offered her treats. She is really upset.

I did get a good dose of vanilla on Max last night, now I just need to get Penny, but with her hissing at me like that, it isn't going to be easy - she runs fast and doesn't want me near her.

OMG - I'm hearing stuff crashing to the floor in my bedroom again, followed by irate little meows!

I'm torn - part of me wants to get it over with, but part of me is thinking I might need to keep poor Max locked up for at least another night - but until I get Penny smelling like cookies, too, at the very least, there's no way I can allow Max out. He's gonna get the cookies kicked out of him by his own aunt!

I have to go back and reread the Penny intro threads I posted...this has to be fast, but can't be too fast...

Again, the cats proved me wrong - I thought Ferris would be the most upset, but he hasn't hissed at me. I need to go find my boy, tell him I love him still...

Wow! Sounds like Max is making quite an extrance into your place

Would Feliway help? Then that way you don't have to worry about getting Vanilla on Penny. I know for us, the scenting thing went horribly wrong and made things worse...but that's just our cats.

You know when I brought Angel (one of Nial's cats) home, I got pretty much the SAME reaction from Simba (my bengal from a breeder here in Los Angeles). Only Simba was in Penny's position. He growled and hissed at me, and wouldn't stop until I put Angel away in her own room. Simba was so upset that he literally came and threw up at my feet. Here I thought my two Bengal's were going to get along fine, but to t his day, Angel is still terrified of Simba. Simba is no longer upset by her, but she is beyond terrified of him. Simba wants to play with her now, but she takes that as a threat. So, they have never hit it off.

By the way...Max sounds like Simba as far as getting "into" everything. Angel is never into things, but Simba is a wild and crazy little boy. I'm thinking male Bengals seem to be more ALL Bengals than females do. If Max is anything like Simba, you will need to "Bengal proof" your home, and put all breakables away, because they like to climb, and for some reason they like to knock things down on purpose. They love to hear the sound of things falling on the floor. Before Simba came in to my life I was a LOtT more picky about my house. After Simba...I have learned to not care so much, because it just isn't going to do any good. Boy Bengal's are naughty with a capital N, but they are sure loads of fun. Simba gives me more comic relief than any comedian can give. He keeps me in stitches most of the time. Simba is a clown, that's for sure, and Max sounds like he's going to be a lovable little clown, himself.

There are 4 Feliway diffusers running in my apartment - I set them up several days ago.

Ferris, Ginger and Max all smell like cookies, and Penny does not. Max is BEGGING to be let out so he can explore, and I'm waiting a bit because I really want to try to get some vanilla on Penny - I tried a little while ago, and she hissed and hissed at me, LOL.

Hope, Penny was "one of the boys" when she was back at Nial's, and she loves to play with Ferris, so I'm not concerned that she'll never come around, but I think as the last one in, she feels threatened. She already has two cats above her in the hierarchy, and I'm sure her plan is to put Max below her. Whether or not that actually is the case?
Time will tell!

I don't have too many breakables out as it is, I cat proofed before Penny, thinking that she'd be a climber, and I have barrister bookshelves with my nicest knick-knacks behind glass doors. I have plenty of high and low spots that are designated cat safe, and Max will be fine once he's had a chance to sniff EVERYTHING. It's the initial nosy phase that should prove the most destructive.

Awwww, his own aunt doesn't even want him there!?
Geesh!

Ferris must be thinking.."okay, when is the NEXT cat coming?"

Max sounds so sweet Betsy...you have so many now that if you need to get rid of one, you can send Ferris over here

Haha sounds like you're in for a fun weekend!! Max sounds like a sweetheart - Penny is going to get a shock because I imagine when they meet, he is going to run up to her to say hi and want to be best friends immediately!

I truly expect that from him! And then she'll do her best to tell him what's what!

Penny and Ferris are hiding out together under my roomie's bed. Ginger just got some Kitty Kaviar
and now she's watching the Nor'easter blow rain against the windows. This is old hat for Ms. Queen Bosscat.

One giant pee clump, one slightly loose stool.

Good boy, Max!

I have not yet seen him eat or drink, but then again, Penny tends to do her nibbling and hydrating privately, too. I think that's from the ALC bloodline.

I'm going to go back in my room now for a while - I put a small scratcher in there, and I need to bring in a couple of toys and play with him for a while. And maybe even unpack a box while I'm in there.

I'll update later on...I think I'm going to definitely take Monday off from work. Especially since I probably won't sleep too well tonight, either.

Maybe try this. Bring Max out and put him in one room. Take Penny and put her in the room Max is staying in now. So she will get more of his scent.

Do this for about an hour and supervise baby Max

Have you read my "Afternoon Update" thread? She's keeping her distance for now, but we've had another speedy, successful integration. The last three hours have been pretty peaceful, with Max striking up a chorus-of-one set of meows here and there.

I must admit I am extremely seduced by Bengals...

Would you happen to have reliable online ressources about them? All I know is that they're wild and expansive, but SO adorable

To learn more about them, I simply did searches on "Bengal Cat" and read up about them on the TICA website in addition to my breeder's site, www.bengalshowcats.com.
