Her name is Jezabel- and she's about 3 months old. Last week a sweet lady came in with the poor little thing. She found her near her home- she had been in the rain and was filthy. In addition to this- she also has a very bad broken leg. My shelter took her in and we're going to pay to have her leg taken care of. Origionally we thought the leg might be able to be fixed- but the vet said it's too far gone, so they are going to amputate it.

Since I seem to be the foster home for surgery babies (Norris- post leg amputation, Dodger- post leg surgery, etc) I have offered to take in little Jezable after her surgery while she recovers. She's soo sweet
I'm sure it won't be a problem. I just have to double check with Colin before i take her home- but hopefully in a while she'll be able to have surgery and then come home and start the recovery process. Once she's healed up and more socialized- we're going to keep her as the shelter kitty until the right home comes along that can take care of her special needs being a 3 legger

Can we get some "easy surgery/recover vibes" for sweet little Jezabel? She's got a long road ahead of her!

I'm not sure when they're doing the amputation surgery- but as soon as i know i'll update.

Oh i hope so!
I know my last foster baby who had an amputation (Norris- the doggie) did SOOOO well post op- he looks great now! Animals are soo resiliant- i hope she does well! (his new family brought him to visit us last week
). If Colin gives me the ok to foster her - i will certainly be borrwing a camera and snapping some pictures! She's adorable!

We had a 6 month old kitten have his leg amputated about 5 months ago. We just amputated the leg of a Coonhound a little over 2 weeks ago. And we have a kitten who came in, barely 4 weeks old, with his leg misshapen that will need it amputated once he is healthy & puts some meat on his tiny bones.

The cats that I've seen have a leg amputated have done very well. It is as though they do not ever notice!

Vibes for the poor little thing. I am glad she was found before it was too late to help her!

Thankyou everyone!
She is at the vets office and waiting for her surgery to be preformed whenever one of the vets gets a moment to do it (she's not in pain- we think it's a pre-existing injury-so she is able to wait until they squeeze her surgery in soon. it may be a few days- but until then, she's in good hands with lots of wonderful people to watch over her) As soon as her surgery is done i plan to pick her up the following day and let her recovery
I still have to double check with Colin- but i'm sure he'll be ok with it
She's a little doll! She's a pretty dlh calico
