Oh my goodness, I read all her books growing up and never thought anything of it. But now.....yes it is quite bad.

I live in an area where white is at times the minority. There are time I am the only white person on the bus. I would never say the N word, and it bothers me that some black people freely call each other the N word, then get up in arms when a white person does the same.

What gets me is when a person makes a comment about race, sexual orientation, etc. and if its used in a bad way, then they are automatically labelled a "racist"/"homophobic", etc.

That's WRONG!

That's WRONG!
When you make sweeping, negative generalizations about a large group of people and then don't clarify or defend it, it's liable to be taken that way.
