Yep, I am Cat. A & E has already halted production of his show.
His racist tirade has done him in.
I'm surprised that they ever restarted shooting after he was found out to be wanted in Mexico for bounty hunting.

ehh...he'lll be back. Look at Imus, he's supposedly coming back (don't know if he actually has or not.)
He died??? How sad!!
I'm sorry but what racist tirade did he have? Are you saying Dog Chapman is dead or is his show dead?
His show is probably going to get canceled.

review the link: http://www.nationalenquirer.com/2007.../full-wmv.html

I am shocked, and I have African American in me.
Those links won't open for me, but i thought he had died judging by the thread title.
From the little it says in the link above, it looks like he had a fight with his son over his girlfriend and called the girlfriend the n word, which was caught on tape and posted online by the National Enquirer.

A&E halted production while the matter is investigate, although he apologised and admitted he said it in a private conversation between him and his son. His side of the story is here, the NE gives the Congress for Racial Equality's (who approached the NE) side.

I heard about this on the radio this morning, and listened to the Dog tell his side of it - and I can come to no other conclusion: he is a racist.

I liked him and his show, he does good by catching "bad guys" that jump bail, but any respect I had for him is now LONG gone.

I HATE that word.
first i hate his show, i cant stand looking at him.
i did not like the sound of the GF also, yea dog used the wrong words.

but i wonder if someone taped many us here when we where upset over something
woudl we come out sounding like angles?

lol that being said, i still hate his show
post #16 of 122
Dog should of watched what he said but he was angry & unfortunately sometimes you say things you otherwise wouldn't...Everyone makes mistakes, he just happened to make his on TV.

You know your right Bruce. Yes he was wrong saying what he said, but none of us are perfect, and theres always going to be someone that doesn't like something someone says or does.

Check out TMZ.com, you can listen to part of the tape there, it is getting down toward the bottom of the 1st page at TMZ.

i did, i dont agree with how he said it. but he was only trying to look out for his son. like isaid, if someone taped one of us, when upset would we come out sounding like church mice? did you expect him to sound like a PHD lawyer? he sounded like he looks.

not only that, but why is there not people being upset over the fact that Dog was being recored with out his permission, and it was released with his consent or his son's?

what if the same happen to you, or me, etc. how many people would change there view of you?
I've edited the thread title, as it was confusing people.
Bruce, I have to agree that we all say some pretty nasty things in anger. We're just lucky that they're not made public.
I tend to think that what he said is NOT the same as that Immis dude. It was a private conversation, illegally taped, and I agree with The Imp, none of us are perfect, especially in the private. I know last night I was mad as I was trying to get to work which is very close to where the Gay Halloween Party/Parade was held last night, and I slipped and used the "F" word, when talking about all of those guys walking down the middle of the street without consideration to the the stop lights, causing me to get to work 10 minutes late, when I would have been there early had they been considerate. Now would I use that word normally? No, but I was P.Oed, and it popped out of my mouth. I don't approve of using derogatory names towards people, but I'm sure every one has done it in the privacy of their own homes and in the privacy of a "private" telephone conversation.

Dog may not be predjudiced, he may have just been angry. I know that I don't hate Gay people. In fact normally I love Gay Guys, but last night they were making me mad, and I was so angry that I popped out with the most insulting word I could think of about them.

Uh, oh, now he has to go march with the Reverend Al Sharpton on Washington.

Poor Dog.
This is why I'm glad I'm not famous or otherwise under public scrutiny. The things that come out of my mouth are far from politically correct, and I'd have to meet with Al Sharpton, NOW, etc. on a daily basis.

At work, we are a very diverse group (in a minority-majority county, no less). We know not to act up when outsiders are around, but we would give the people working at our EthicsLine strokes if they heard us talking on a daily basis.

I don't personally care what people want to say in their private lives. Sure, you shouldn't be racist, homophobic, etc. Some people are. In the workplace, government, etc., it doesn't belong. In the rest of the world, people need to get over themselves and stop being offended on everyone else's behalf. How many black people are actually losing sleep over this? No one has the right not to be offended, something a lot of these alleged "victims" are well aware of. They'll continue going to work, raising their kids, walking their dogs, grocery shopping, watching tv, etc. just like they did before Dog's use of the big, bad, horrible n-word.

Funny, I just watched this show for the very first time the other night. I had this weird feeling that something about this guy just wasn't right. I guess I know now what my intuition was telling me. He should be ashamed of himself.
I am sure there are plenty of things all of us should be ashamed of in ourselves when done privately, and I agree with Bruce, neither Dog or his son released that tape and we should be more concerned by the illegal taping and releasing of the conversation than anything else.

Had he been a real he could have simply said that it wasn't him, if it was taken from a legal tap of his line the police would be in trouble for releasing it, if it isn'[t legal, good luck proving it was him. To me it says something that he admitted it and tried to explain himself. I know, like Hope mentioned, I have said some nasty things when it comes to my family being hurt or something annoying me to the extent that I am so frustrated. But I am not racist or homophobic.

I'm glad he went to Mexico and got that jerk. That man was a danger to all women.

There is no comparison to what went down with Dog Chapman and what went down with Imus. Dog was not talking to the public, he was angry with his son, and saying bad things out of anger. It's too bad it's going to destroy his career, and his TV show. He shouldn't have used the "N" word, but I'm sure he's not the only one who has used a racial slur when angry. He says he wasn't even mad at the girl, he was angry with his son, when he said those words, and they were supposed to be a private conversation. My thoughts are that the person who recorded him without his permission broke the law.

From my understanding it was a voicemail message, not someone recording him. Yes, true it was a private conversation, however I know that if I were the son or even the son's girlfriend and heard that I would be really angry about that message and what he said.

I'm a little relunctant to trust what was posted on TMZ however. I saw that the recording came from the National Inquirer...which IMO is nothing but trash.

I am skeptical of the Enquirer as well since it is just a gossip rag but the fact that there is a voice recording and A&E was taking it seriously made me believe the story was credible.

funny how the internet works, The first couple of stories i saw lastnight said it was a tapped conversation. you saw it was a voice mail. i have not had a chance yet to look at the news today.

But it does not change the fact that he was upset with his son. and the recording was released without permisson from dog and his son(unless that part of the story has changed yet)
