Considering the levels of abject poverty in my area of Iowa, I don't really know what you're talking about. Last year they had record numbers of people going to the coat donations, Salvation Army, and Toys For Tots. 2 of the food pantries in our area closed. As well as 1 or 2 soup kitchens. And I think 1 or 2 shelters for the homeless closed. The level of need is very high in this part of Iowa and the state government doesn't have enough funding for all of them. Most of these places closed because of lack of funding from whatever their sources were.

I hate it. But we also do not have to pay a state income tax and many other places do......so some things even out- eithor way- states are going to make sure that they make their money to keep running no matter how they may get it.
Does NV make up for it in other areas that you know of? (i know around here for instance- there's no state tax, no toll fees, but in other states they have them- yet we have a massive sales tax)
