I have 2 cats, one male, and the other female. I recently got my female cat fixed, the male was fixed a while ago. When I brought her home, the male hissed at her repeatedly, someone has told me because she lost her female scent. It's been going on for a week now. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can do, because they were such good friends before this, now the male won't go anywhere near her. please help!!

He may have been responding to any smells from the vet's office that might have been lingering in her coat. Her own personal scent may have also changed slightly, from metabolizing the anesthetic or any drugs she was given.

I'm sure someone will correct me if this is wrong, but you can take a washcloth, put a little vanilla scent on it and rub both of your cats. That way, your female will smell similar to and OK for your male.

Let us know how it goes!
