Is it her??? I lost my own personal cat (a foundling who the neighbors left when they moved) a DSH bobtail Black F. Today, I was browsing the PetHarbor adoption cats and SAW a cat JUST LIKE HER>

I called the shelter, the cat was brought in as a stray and they tried to discourage me that it was her... they list the cat as NOT SPAYED but she did NOT come in with kittens and was a stray, so how would they KNOW?

(Mine was spay). They also list her as 2 years 1 month. And how would they even know that, LOL?? So I figure, that its a shot that it could be mine.

When she disappeared I thought someone might have trapped and dumped her. This idea was quite strong, and I always hoped she would be found ... so I kept an eye on places across the river and where someone who might have wanted to get rid of her might dump in hopes I might not look/find...

If this is indeed what happened, then these folks didn't reckon on the Internet. Or my determination to keep looking every where for my lost cat.

In the steady looking I've done - DSH Blk w with white spot BOBTAIL / MANXs are not common this is the FIRST listing in my ENTIRE 60 mile radius area that I've seen/found. It COULD be my cat!!

I've looked consistently, even across the river. If this does turn out to my
kitty, I will JUMP for joy. I am so excited I can't stand it. Unfortunately I can't get to the shelter on the otherside of river until Monday (I work all
week, including Saturday. It sucks. I am so sure it could be HER.)

Prayers and vibes please!! She's been missing since. ... June.

I hope it's your kitty and that the shelter is understanding and will let you take her home. Monday seems SO far away though!

Thank you all. I do NOT know if it is her. I looked so hard at the picture and it doesn't look like her face, but then, she would have lost LOTS of weight, if lost, and the black cats are hard to picture the face since light reflects off the black fur. The eyes are about right. There is no white showing in the little locket on the chest that she had, BUT again, I don't know for sure the
way the picture was taken if it would show that much... (it was small and shaved off when she went missing, as she'd had medical treatments and it was just growing back in...) This cat might NOT be her.

OTH, its my ONLY match for her in 3 months of looking (I did signs, went door to door, called the highway pick up folks, put out rewards of 250 dollars, and in short did EVERYTHING you can think of. Flyers to vets, in the pet stores, at all contingous counties... rescue groups. etc etc.)

If any one deserves to get her cat back, its me. So, fingers crossed
praying like MAD that it may be her, and that I just don't recognize the picture. I have one picture of her. I have no others - but it shows her as the fat cat she was when she went missing. I have vet records for her, I can dig out, and bring. And of course, if she recognize me, I have a special name she usually responds to "Mee Mee ruu ruuu"

At this point, I am unsure but hoping desperately it is her!

In other news, one of my feral babies died - she was I believe hit by car,
and injured more than I suspected. She was cold and stiff when I found her, I was not able to catch er when I first saw her limping. I am sadden deeply.

I must make plan for this type of feral cat capture in the future, so I can catch. And get people to help me out. I am so alone sometimes with this, that I really really struggle. Its good this board is here!

For the lady who lost Gigi - please don't give up hope. I did have one cat go missing 6 wks and be found 1/2 mile from home by pure chance when we went walking. We had moved houses, he didn't know the hood and was wandering .... we were SO happy to get him home! I know that if this IS my Mee Mee (and I pray so hard each day now that it IS) that she must have been transported away somehow to get across the river, in a truck or van, or car - not by her own will. ....

Perhaps intentionally on the part of someone, perhaps not. Either way, if it is her, it will be a true miracle. Pray with me I find that it is indeed her...

hope it turns out to be her! you are right, cats can look so different if they lose weight. i lost my cat for 9 weeks once and when he miraculously turned up again, i had to use old photos to match his fur patterns because he was so emaciated he looked like a totally different cat.

fingers crossed!

Thanks for all of your advise! and encouragement! I will be praying that cat is your Mee Mee! I just found a Border Collie, and ran an ad in our local paper, and on our radio station! This girl called me, came and checked out the dog and it was her dog who had been gone since June also!
Also my sister--in-law's cat got into someone's van and took a ride , the people never knew
it, she got out wherever and it took her 3 yrs to come home but she walked up one day! They totally freaked!I'm wishing you all the luck on Saturday!
I need good news...we have to stay positive!!!!!Thanks again!

I'm so sorry you lost one of your feral girls!

I hope it is your lost Mee Mee.

If she was brought to the shelter as a stray they probably did spay her, so they would know whether or not she was spayed beforehand.

You are so right about light on black fur. It is difficult to get a good picture of black cats.
