Anyone had the Gardasil vaccine? Think I'm having some side effects.

I had my second Gardasil vaccine yesterday and I've been feeling more and more sick today. It finally dawned on me it might be a side effect of the vaccine. Of course I can't find the information sheet my doctor gave me after the first one. Oh and of course, the doctors office is closed.

Did anyone else have side effects from it? The first one only made my arm very sore. This time my arm doesn't hurt much at all.

I've been getting random sharp pains in different places in my abdomen (not near my appendix thank the LORD!), then diarrhea and feeling nauseous and now I'm freezing though my thermostat says it's 80 in the house. I feel pretty crappy and like I'm almost having trouble breathing, but I'm not. Like my chest is a little sore, which could be from being nauseous and dehydrated. DH just brought me some Gatorade so we'll see if that helps at all. Can't take my temp because our thermometer is broken.

I did find this page for side effects online: http://cervical-cancer.emedtv.com/ga...e-effects.html and it seems from that it really could be from the vaccine. I'm just wondering if anyone else experienced these side effects and how long they lasted? If I still feel this crappy in the morning I'm definitely calling the doctor.

I agree, call. If it gets worse, go to the ER.

Adverse reactions can be deadly or even have lasting effects. There is something set up by the fda/cdc for compensation for damages caused by reactions. I'm not sure if that one is covered, but flu vaccinations are.

You'll have to check further details on it, my mind's a bit vague on it at the moment.

Dh just got home with a new thermometer, I do have a fever at this point.

I don't know that my doctor has an after hour number. The last time I called I'm sure I got a message saying they were closed. I'll probably call them first thing tomorrow morning.

I wish i could help, but i don't know much about the side effects/etc. I decided not to get the vaccine (i'm 22) because once we have the children we want (if we're able to- i have PCOS) i am going to have a complete hysto (within the next few yrs)...so there's no point really for me to get it -we're planning to start fertility treatments soon after we're married in March -so that would mix and mingle- i'm not willing to chance it.)

I do hope you find the answers you need love
It seems like a good option for many people! Hopefully your side effects will ease up soon.

Do you have health insurance? I know on most plans- they have a 24 hour nurse's line where you can call with questions/etc- i would give that a shot and see if your symptoms require medical care. If you don't have insurance- a lot of hospitals offer nurses lines too

I don't know if we have a nurse line. I'll have to look.

I went from freezing to sweating for a while and now I'm cooling off. I hope that means the fever is leaving!

Just an update, I called the dr and spoke with a nurse a little bit ago.

She doesn't think it's a side effect from that vaccine, but that I picked up some tummy bug. So I'm about to try to go to the grocery store for some clear liquid type foods. My fever bounced back last night but as of when I got up again was gone. So we'll see.

Actually that that vaccine has aluminum adjuvants in it, so it could have easily been a reaction to that or something else in it.
Look around http://www.nvic.org/ if you feel like it..

Isn't it strange how many of us worry about the vaccinations are cats get, whether they're adjuvant free or not, yet we don't have much choice for our own?

I wouldn't get this vaccine..they haven't tested it nearly as long as I'm comfortable with...not to mention any long term effects it might cause

I hope you feel better soon

I was hesitant to get it too. I wish I were a few years younger so I could have waited longer to decide, but my time was up so I finally decided to get it.

The fda also let the company developing it skew testing results... (there has to be a lot of money tied up into vaccines..)

I'm hesitant to try it too. It's a little too new for my taste. Plus I've already got a strand of HPV.....I know I know, there's a thousand different strands. I can stand to wait a few years.
