Wheat Gluten

Why exactly is wheat gluten so bad? I know it was the source of the pet food scare, but other than that is it a desirable ingredient for cat food?

I am wondering because my cat is liking the Nutro Natural pouches and they have wheat gluten in them.

gluten in wheat is the protein of the wheat... while a great binder and good digestability it also IS a HIGH ALLERGEN... if your s have no allergys then no issue
