It depends. I like Revolution because it kills ear mites, deworms, kills fleas, & is a heartworm med. However, I think Frontline works better for cases of severe fleas.

I do Revolution my outside kitties, because ear mites are so common.

I can get Revolution for $4/cat & Frontline is $12/cat. Revolution is cheaper because the vet measure out the amount for me into a syringe.

Revolution is pretty good. I have never used Frontline. We also use advantage.

I use frontline as my vet explained that it was the one found in the least amount in the blood stream of treated animals

I perfer Revolution because once I used Frontline and after only 2 weeks it wasn't working. I feel Revolution works longer plus it takes care of mites and worms also.

I used Frontline Plus; worked great for us. My cat and house was
just full of fleas when I got her and didn't realize she had fleas for
months. Yikes!! Never again. Smarter now.

i have uised Advantage and Revolution. The Advantage is amazing, you literally watch the fleas drop off the cat all dizzy and dying.

Thanks for your response.
Here, I did quick research on the web.
Do any of you use Program???

Revolution:
Prevents heartworm. Treats and controls ear mites and roundworms.

Frontline Plus:
Treats Tick also.

Advantage:
Flea only but first action. Kills flea within 1 hour.

Program:
Doesn't kill adult Flea but prevents them from hatching. Injection will last for 6 month! (This may be a good option for Feral cats?)

I am wondering one think about Frontline...
If multiple cat licked each other's applied area to clean up, would it diminish the effect???? I have been wondering about this.

Thanks,

I think a lot depends on the area you live in. In my area, ticks are more of a problem than fleas, so I've always used Frontline Plus. Piper did have ear mites when we first brought her home, but my vet still wanted her treated with Frontline, and then used a seperate medication directly in her ears to treat the mites.

ETA: I have never seen my cats attempt to lick the Frontline off of each other (maybe it doesn't taste very good?), but I would think that should be discouraged. I think that's why you apply it between their shoulderblades, so they can't lick it off themselves.

Sometimes it depends on your kitty. Mika had a reaction to the Revolution so last time they gave her Advantage. Bijou gets Revolution.

Unless your kitty is outdoor, I'd just give them enough treatments to make it go away and then stop.

Puppy had a reaction to Frontline. All his hair fell out in the place where we applied it. We did this twice. Once we were sure the cats were flea-free, we stopped using it since they're indoor kitties.
