Lately I have been noticing Misty's left eye squinting at times. It does not seem to mater what the light conditions are in the room when I see her doing it. There is no apparent irritation or redness of the eye (if a cats eyes reacts the same as peoples do). It looks like it might be a little watery but nothing extreme. She does not seem to have any problems with her vision.

So can cats get a lazy eye like people or should I take her to the vet and get her checked out?

Thanks in advance.

I'm sure people would tell you to go to the vet, but it the cat does have any red or irritation I wouldn't really worry. Have you had the kitty it's whole life? Did it ever have an eye problem if you have had it since it was a baby baby? Enzo had some sort of eye infection a few weeks after we got him, I took him to the vet the second day I noticed because it was so bad he would keep it shut. It was healed and back to normal in about a week, but ever since then he's been squinting that eye. It does sort of look like a lazy eye sometimes. He doesn't always do it, but about once a month I'll notice him winking, or squinting a lot.

I just got back from the vet and he said it was conjunctivitis. It was starting to spread to other eye as well. He gave me some drops for her and said it clear up in a week or so.
