Cat breathing hard before/while sleeping

Hey guys, I just stumbled upon this site tonight, my question is..

Our cat Peanut, he is about a year old, we saved him when he was a baby but recently I've noticed before he goes to sleep / while he's sleeping it seems like hes almost panting or breathing hard, his stomach is moving really fast, now when hes awake and active, he don't do this.. is there a reason he does it when he's sleeping.. and sometimes his purring sounds like snoring..

He could be just dreaming if he only does it every once in a while, but if he does it every time he sleeps, you should consult your vet. Not trying to send you into a panic, but shortness of breath while resting can be very serious!
