Hey all! I just got a baby bengal kitty! She is soo adorable. Are there any special needs that she may have? She is about 7 weeks old. She is a marbled bengal female.

Thanks,
Ginger

Hi Ginger

I moved your post to H&N because athough you have a pure breed, it's a health issue and you may get better response.
As for anything special because she's a Bengal, not according to one of the breeders I know. As with any young kitten, good kitten food, lots of socialization, and regular vet visits

Do you know why the store is selling kittens that are so young? From most of the breeding articles I have read is that 12 weeks is the optimum age for kittens to move on into a new home.

I'm just curious where this store is getting the kittens and why they are separating them at such an early age?

RB...I was wondering the same thing. Kittens shouldn't go to their new home until they're at least 10 weeks.

To be honest, I think if you're going to get a purebred kitten, a registered breeder is the best place. We have just had this discussion on another forum & there is a pet shop selling Ragdoll kittens, entire & without papers for $1,000.00, if you go to a breeder you can get one which has been desexed, microchipped & vaccinated twice for $500.00. I don't want to be negative about this person getting a new kitten, because it's very exciting getting a newbie, but I am really opposed to pet shops selling purebreds. Breeders know best

Julia.

about the crying all night. WHy not get a snuggle kitty. It lloks like a cat, purrs, has a heartbeat, etc. Just what a little bengal baby needs who misses her mom and siblings.

You can get one by following this link:

Also, please be sure to go to the webiste Hissy pointed you to - they also have a great chat board just for bengal owner. The people are great and very knowledgeable about the bengal breed. That is were I used to live when I first got my Loki.
