Yesterday at the rescue, we had two 3-4 month old kittens come in. I got the call saying they were on their way in, but that one of them had an eye infection or something was wrong with one of their eyes.
So I set up a vet appointment for today before seeing the kittens.

When they came in, I pulled one out and took it's picture and applied Revolution and put it back in the carrier, naming him Sully. He had beady-ish looking eyes, but healthy.
I pulled out the next one, named him Duff and gave him revolution too. Then I checked him over and noticed his eyes.

It took me a second where I saw eyes like his before.. but it clicked!! Sarahp's Smudge!! I knew then what the condition was called, and the vet confirmed it today. He will be seeing a specialist in 3 weeks after he gets his booster shot, and hopefully having a surgery to fix his eyelashes.

Sully

Duff! Reminds me so much of Smudge!

Anyhow.

Awr what sweet boys!

The one thing I can remeber at this moment in time is probably don't give a cat too much milk (as in a jug-full) as this can lead to bad diarreorhea (sorry if that's not spelt right!! lol)

When I kept looking at Smudge's eyes....I kept thinking of a kitty here that had eyes just like it! He had the surgery done to fix his eyelashes...and is no happy, healthy, & in a home!

plastic is porous and it holds onto dirt and bacteria, glass, ceramic or stainless steel is better. It has been shown that using plastic bowls has a correlation to cat acne

I have learned that I have some of the best people surrounding me here at TCS. When Duke died of Feline hepatic lipidosis (which I also know a lot more about) I had so many people consoleing me and helping me deal with my grief. Even thinking about all of the kind sentiments I recived back them makes my eyes well up.

TCSers ARE THE BEST!

I've learned lots of things:

Good pet food vs. not really good pet food.

Peta just isn't something I want to associate myself with.

I've learned so much that I wouldn't be able to list it all!

I've also learned that cat people are the best (which I already knew anyway!
) and that most of the really great cat people are members at TCS!!

And this has nothing to do with any cat related stuff, but several members helped me to learn how to use the computer more efficiently.

Those cats are just adorable!

I learned that to discourage a cat from biting ankles you have to hiss like a momma cat .... And it worked
Although Quill will still do it but not as often. And lots of other things. I'm learning about certain conditions and diseases, and just about things I never really knew like lilies being poisonous to cats.

And those boys are so pudgy!

I can't begin to enumerate it all! Lysol is bad, KMR is good, food bowls need to be raised a few inches, scaredycats like soft music, don't stare at a cat without blinking... it goes on and on!

I've also learned that people may come from very different backgrounds and live very different lives, but at heart, they have much more in common than not.

I have found several things, that have proven helpful.
Also it helped me to wait out heyu hiding for months,
and also to introduce heyu and eazy(which was not a fun process)

there have been a couple of others things also

A lot of stuff, actually. Plus I'm lucky to have great vets who love taking the time to explain stuff to me. I've gotten quite the education since becoming a meowmy.

It's quite flattering; friends sometimes call for advice, but I still remember the time (pre-TCS!) when I dragged Molly to the vet - because, ZOMG, she'd lost a whisker. I brought it WITH ME because I didn't think the vet would believe me when I told him.

I bet he's still telling that story at conferences.

Good one! Helped Slaine clear up her kitty acne.
