My husband and I noticed our 1 and half year old cat's bottom lip was sticking out quite a bit over the past few days. I checked it out and she seems to have a hard, pale lump that spans her front four teeth. Also, her upper gums look a little inflamed. I've noticed she hasn't been eating as much or hasn't been as interested in food since last weekend. She also got sick to her stomach earlier in the week. She is the sweetest, happiest cat and I'm very worried about her. At the same time, I don't want to run to the vet if this is a common occurence. Has anybody seen anything like this?

This is definitely not a common occurrence. Please get her to the vet as soon as you can. Cats can go into liver failure quickly when they stop eating. It must be very painful for her to eat with her mouth in that condition.

Let us know what the vet says.

This might be a long shot, but do you feed/water her from plastic dishes? Sometimes cats can have allergic reactions to the chemicals in plastic, plus plastic harbors bacteria way more than ceramic/glass/steel bowls to. Still, I'd have her checked out by the vet. You never know! Hopefully it's not serious. Do let us know what they vet says.
