My Mom and Dad
- Both are dead and I miss them very much

Viggo Mortensen
- I'd love to discuss his poetry... yeah, that's it... poetry

JRR Tolkien
- I have so many questions about LoTR and I would love to pick his brain to find out the answers

Adolph Hitler
- I hear he was a virtual genius! Yet he was also one of the most cruel people to have ever lived. I'd love to be able to talk to him and find out "why!"

Queen Elizabeth I
- She came to the throne so young and she was one of the most successful reigning monarchs. I think she would be facinating to talk to.

God
- To find out where he came from if he in fact "created" everything!

I've never had a big list of people I'd really like to meet (in no particular order). Here's a couple that would be interesting:

Princess Diana - she always seemed intriguing

Jet Li - I REALLY like his movies and would love to see his martial arts in action

George Clooney - I'd love to have a good chat with him about the state of the world, and the work he's doing to try and improve it (and to drool...)

David Attenborough - love his docos, love his enthusiasm

Angelina Jolie - fascinating woman (and Brad Pitt can come too
)

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - I think he's often misrepresented, and like the way he talks and the majority of what he says - I'd be very interested to meet him in person

Neil Armstrong - get him drunk and find out if he REALLY walked on the moon!

Jane Austen - her books are still so popular amongst to many people, I'd love to hear what her life was like and what her inspirations were

Adolf Hitler - it'd be very interesting to get into that man's brain and try to understand how he became what he did, and if he EVER felt any remorse whatsoever

Edit: Ha! I've spent 30 minutes compiling this list (and getting distracted thanks to Wikipedia... ). Linda - I think we have very similar tastes - Tolkien and the Queen were also others that are very high on my list - and I completely forgot about Viggo Mortensen - he'd so be invited to stay for coffee after dinner
Not only is he gorgeous, but I love that he's so passionate about his roles!

The first person I thought of was my grandma (she passed away 9 years ago today)

As far as celebrities go...there are too many to mention!

B never meet him, but wrote back and forth with a grandson or nephew of his when he was in middle school or high school. If this answers any questions: By the time Tolkien was finishing up LOTR and the Samirillion he was having actual conversations with Gandolf.

hmmm...mine would be:

JK Rowling - Yes I'm an HP fan.

Steven Colbert -just to see how much he's like in person then TV.

Orlando Bloom - just so that I could be seen in public with a really hot celebrity

Alexander the Great - he was a little insane. May make for an entertaining evening.

Anne Boleyn & Queen Elizabeth I - I love those periods in history

Queen Guinevere - so we know if King Arthur truly exists.
