San Diego Zoo????

I've read about the fires, but haven't heard about what's going on with the SD Zoo. They mentioned that someone was opening up a ranch or safe place where people were bringing in trailers of horses to save them from the fire.

I'm concerned about the Zoo animals - anyone know?

If you look near where it says SanDiego, on this fire map, you'll see human and large animal evac sites, the Zoo is locatated roughly in the center of that (currently) safe zone.

I'm watching on CNN that they are trying to evacuate the wildlife park. The issue they are having is that the animals are free roaming so it's hard to pull them all in. I have huge respect for the conservation work the San Diego Zoo does, so I really hope they have everything under control.

Here's where I'm going to offer my home for any cute baby animals that need a temporary home.
