anyone ever heard about this? My aunt suggested it to me as a Christmas idea to donate a chicken to a needy family in someone else's name. I thought that I would look it up to see how valid it is. I am so cynical anymore, I just don't believe a website (anyone can put up a fancy website). Does anyone here know about this charity? It seems to be UK based...

btw...if anyone seems to think that I am giving this charity a subtle plug, I am not...I am just curious about it...

Its called Heifer International www.heifer.org.

This group has been around for 60 yrs.
There is a nursery in Northern IL that I buy plants from and they donate sales of their hostas and other perennials yearly to this organization.

Perhaps this might be better??? Let me know!!
