That drives me nuts too!
What's so difficult about walking a few extra feet to put them back where they belong?!

Only they're not called shopping carts in Texas - they're "buggies".

When I first moved here and got a job as a cashier, NO ONE knew what I was talking about when I asked the customer for their cart so I could load it for them. One lady thought I was asking for her (credit) card, and told me she was paying w/ cash - not her card.

When people leave their dirty nasty dishes in the sink at work.
And there's even a dishwasher right next to it!

Another work one for me--when someone else uses my desk after I leave, rearranges the whole area, and doesn't put it back when they leave!

In general I really hate it when people touch the LCD screen of my monitor. This happens mostly at work (DH doesn't allow this sort of thing at home). They can't just say what they are looking at? Must they POKE the monitor? My work monitor does have a damaged spot from this behavior. Glad Wednesday is my last day.
It's been a stressful Monday already.

Cat fur "tumbleweeds". And I have 9 cats; 4 are Maine Coons, so you can imagine...I learned the hard way: BUY A DUSTBUSTER AND A VACUUM CLEANER FOR EACH LEVEL OF THE HOUSE!!!). I also throw throws or cheap plastic tablecloths over the furniture when we're alone; removing them to sit down. This keeps the fur off the upholstery--but it looks tacky.

I particularly have a thing about the clumps of fur on the stairs. Don't know why. And cat "fingernails" on the steps. Yuck.

I can't stand going into a restaurant and seeing people eating with there mouths wide open, smacking their gums,
It drives me insane, to see kids whining, scream and hanging off their Mothers legs or arms.
I have three kids, I have spent time ,to make sure they eat with proper manners, and behave in public places.
I also hate the people who don't put away their shopping carts or throw garbage on the ground
I still after 28 years, have not managed to get my DH, to put down the toilet seat, there is nothing worse then, that cold wet feeling, in the middle of the night

What's even worse is when people have a dishwasher, and leave dirty dishes w/ caked-on food sitting around all over the counters, table, etc. EWWW!!
My former landlady did this, and there'd be roaches & ants crawling all over everything.
What's even worse was the fact that she'd also let her dogs do their "business" on the floor, and let it sit there till her husband got home from work - then tell HIM to clean it up!

Okay, I'm going to try to limit myself to five:

-- Guys who think wearing their pants down around their thighs is a form of self-expression.

-- People who phone you and start the conversation with, "What's up with you?" Hey, you called me -- YOU carry the ball!

-- Grocery clerks who lick their fingers while counting change and sacking my stuff.

-- Family members who lick their fingers while reading magazines that I'm next in line for, Mom...

-- Drivers who don't use their turn signals!

YUK!
What idiot would lick their fingers to count the change?! Don't they realize just how filthy money is?!!

I used to be a cashier, and NEVER licked my fingers to count change: I always used that "sticky-finger" stuff that tellers use in banks to count change. And as soon as I'd get my break, the first thing I would do before anything else, was to head for the restroom to wash my hands thoroughly...

What's that old saying, something like "against stupidity, the gods themselves contend in vain"? All I know is, if even the gods can't handle it, there's no way I can!!

I have to leave all newspaper and junk mail on the coffee table for at least a week for thorough cat inspection and shredding.
By the end of that week, there are papers of all kinds, all over the living room.

My in-laws are like this. Dirty dishes on the counter, sink full of trash (plastic, paper, used tooth picks, etc), and nasty sticky counters. They also usually have a container sitting out on the counter that they toss veggie scraps into, instead of a bucket with a lid or just taking it right out to the compost pile. Rotting garbage and breeding fruit flies on the counter is nasty!

It always shocks me (even after several years) to see the extent of their messiness and disregard or basic hygiene in the kitchen.

Luckily, DH didn't pick up their habits. His brother did though...

My daughter-in-law, unfortunately, isn't the cleanest of people, either.
She's basically a good person, and definitely a good mother, but is lacking in the house-cleaning department.
She'll leave dirty dishes scattered around, too, and it drives my son nuts b/c he wasn't raised that way. After several failed attempts at trying to "reason" w/ her, he finally gave up, and instead of saying anything, he put a sign above the stove which had two dirty pans w/ food left in them, and an arrow pointing down to the pans: the signs read...

"Biological experiment #1" and "Biological experiment #2"

I guess she didn't like it too much, but it accomplished the point he was trying to make. She started cleaning up better after that.....

Another thing I absulutely can't stand is overflowing ashtrays.
My s/o is notorious for not emptying them out - it drives me nuts!
I asked him if he's trying to see just how many he can fit into one ashtray, or if he's just planning on smoking the butts if he runs out.

He's also for notorious for leaving unrinsed coffee cups, glasses, dishes, etc. in the sink, and it really irks me!
How difficult is it to rinse the stuff off??

Apparently it's nearly impossible for some people.

I wouldn't even allow an ashtray in my house, so you're more lenient than I.

I forgot one other thing that really bothers me about my in-laws. Their snide remarks about my pets (not just the cats) and the two of them saying that the cats are dirty.

Stacking dishes when I am cleaning them. I hate feeling the yucky food underneath them.

Furballs after I vacuumed. I don't know how they do it but there is always one big white ball.

Mouth noises of all kinds. This one really makes me go insane PMS time. I have to leave the room before I hurt the person.

Cat paws on my kitchen counters or tables (happens anyway), people that litter, long dog nails, loose non friendly non obedient pet dogs and their owners, socks on the floor, clutter, dirty dishes, smoking in a home (even more so if pets or children are in that ash tray home)
