i just realized I hadn't introduced myself. my girlfriend and i live in Brooklyn, NY, and we've fallen into taking care of some of the neighborhood cats (of which there are many). we have 3 'resident' cats and several new arrivals, mostly kittens off the street who we're trying to socialize enough to adopt out. Some are making great progress, while others are pretty frustrating in their ability to resist taming. we're beginning to work with a local rescue group for support.

this site has already been an invaluable resource!

Hi and welcome! I saw your other msg up in Ferals first, so now I want to know, which one of those cute kitties is Ira, if any (loved "le Siamese"!)? What a crew! Looks pretty lively! And how good of you to take them in!

Be careful that you don't get bitten. Wear special gloves and do you use a special kind of crate to catch the cats?

so far these cats are all pretty docile, they've grown up in the presence of humans (mostly eating garbage and such), they just haven't been indoors before. they're mostly just shy. and they literally came in through the front window, just hopped in like they owned the place!

they've been sleeping in one of the cat carriers, they make it so easy

You guys are awesome!

I'm from Yonkers. Went back for my HS reunion (won't tell you what #) and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge for the first time. Wound up in Dumbo and wondered why Walt Disney let the neighborhood use the name.
