My sinuses have been bothering me since yesterday. There is a lot of pressure right behind my eyes. I didn't want to take any sinus medicine because it makes me jittery but I couldn't take it anymore. I broke down and took something about a half hour ago. Fall weather reeks havoc on me.

I'm with you!!! I've had a head cold since Thursday, and whenever I get sick it goes straight to my sinuses. I hate when your sinuses and ears get completely clogged up and you start having balance issues! Yesterday I was about to get into the car when I could have sworn it was moving - turns out it was just me....

You can get Sudafed that doesn't contain pseudoephedrine, which is the stuff that makes you jittery. It's the only stuff I can take because of my heart condition (except if my sinuses are REALLY bad, then I'm naughty and take the REAL stuff...)

Ooo, I can't take those meds so I do sinus rinses. And putting a heating pad over your sinuses will help in the way a fever does by killing off the viruses causing the infection. Don't know if the latter helps if the infection is caused by fungi, but both are worth a try. Hope you feel better soon.

Netti pot with sea salt for rinsing the sinuses. It takes a bit of time to master, but really helps. Recommended by many of the top Allergists in the US.

Salt water nasal spray increases the moisture to help remove the allergens and liquify the drainage.

Hang out in the steamy bathroom for 20 minutes or take a hot shower.

Increase the amount of water you drink to hydrate from the inside out.

Face down on a heating pad. The position encourages drainage. The heat increases bloodflow to the area to carry away bacteria.

Ibuprofen, acetaminophen or other NSAIDs that you can take will also help with comfort.

Good luck from a fellow sufferer whose prescription medication is equal to 10 original Sudafed tabs.

My sinuses have been out of whack since I quit smoking in June

I've had my left ear plugged by sinal fluid builup behind my eardrum since then as well.

I definitely sympatize with you!

I suspect I won't get complete relief until my respiratory system has fully detoxified.

My MIL swears by salt water syringes up the nose. I haven't been brave enough to do that. Fall messes with me too. Sudephed helps and I also use Vicks under the nose. I don't know if it really does anything but that was my mom's answer and at least it makes me feel better.
