I was going thru my WebTV e-mails & stuff that I kept (my former mode of cyber-space) and I came across some really cool cat stuff that I'd like to share w/ y'all. However, I still haven't figured out how to copy & paste from the computer. - such as a link, or whatever..

Could someone please help (again!) an illiterate computer dummy??

Also, how do you find out what the link's "address" or (whatever it's called) is??

Thanks!

The address is at the top of your browser page, and starts with http://www.
Left click on that to mark it, go to "Edit" at the top of your browser page, and find "Copy" in the drop-down menu. Click on that. Then go to your post, and determine where you want the link. Go back to the "Edit" drop-down menu, and click "Paste".

I don't know - I haven't tried it yet. I've been w/o internet service for the past few days.
Give me a few minutes and I'll try it out...

Yep! It works!
Thanks!

Next question: How do you copy & paste something from an e-mail, if you want to post it??

Just follow the same steps, after marking the text by using your mouse (left click, and drag it to the right and then down till that part of the text is in a "blue box").

THAT'S good to know!
Now I don't feel alone!!

The only reason I haven't smashed my computer into tiny little pieces yet
is b/c I do have some experience from using my WebTV!
Otherwise....

HUH??

I'll admit - I'm confused!
But that's nothing new..

Just give the computer dummy a little time: I'll eventually figure it out!

Thanks so much for all your help, JCat! I appreciate it!!

Maybe this will be easier: You can mark the text of the email, etc., by putting your cursor at the beginning of it, holding down your shift key, and then pressing/holding down the right and/or down arrows on your keyboard. The background will turn blue to show that the text has been marked.
Then go to Edit at the top of your browser page, click Copy in the drop-down menu, go to where you want to post the text, put your cursor there, go back to Edit, and click Paste in the drop-down menu. That's what I just did with this part of your post: I'll admit - I'm confused!
But that's nothing new..

Just a note: TCS rules don't allow you to post copyrighted material, so if you want people to see an article, just post a link to it.
