Dogs kill Oklahoma woman

This one has a couple of videos, one mentions how the son in law had been feeding the dogs.

Some other articles on it just say "mix breed dogs", by the way, and of course none mention what else they could be mixed with.

I had heard about this the other day while waiting in the doctor's office, but it completely slipped my mind until earlier when I had to chase a couple of dogs out of our yard that had Max cornered on our deck. The same dogs that I suspect killed a neighbor's cat in our yard Saturday.

The first article says "pit bull mixes". That's horrible for everyone concerned!

Funny thing - one video says she was 65, the other 75!

Seems like the press doesn't know what the heck is going on. Either way that is really sad. Why does it always have to be pit bulls?! I just can't believe that it's the breed deciding to kill people including their own owners.

Ironically most people do not even know what a pitbull looks like, even people who think they own them.
My dad's dog is even a good example of this, she would be called a pit, but really she much too large. There had to be some american bulldog in her breeding somewhere, which is more likely what these people are seeing. Large, bully looking mixes. Or so called "large all white pitbulls" - likely dogo mixes.

Local paper says the dogs were supposedly used by the son in law for hog hunting... of it also reports that the sheriff, local police, and animal control said that there are no aggressive dogs running around this town.
It's like that everywhere in Oklahoma, people dump their dogs or let them run, and no one steps up to do anything about it unless someone is seriously hurt or killed.
Often towns don't even have animal control and untrained (in animal handling) police have to deal with it. Such as a few months ago when a police officer accidentally shot and killed a young boy, because he was trying to shoot a snake out of a tree.

Anyone else live in a state or town that has completely incompetent animal control or even none at all?

UMM yeah ... try NORTH IDAHO ... our animal control is from two PD officers trained to handle it but they are Covering NOT just our town of 22000 ish but the town of 55000 next to us and 3 smaller towns all using us and our 46 cap shelter

two cops in the larger town killed two different dogs do to IMHO a LACK OF TRAINING and PURE STUPIDITY ...

That's a lot of area for two people to cover. I can understand lack of funding, but this is important to public safety.
It's horrible that this woman lost her life, in what is easily one of the most horrifying ways, to something that was 100% preventable.

try NYC, where is is only 12 animal police officers, and 5 million animals, and 8 million people, its SAD!!!!! i trid to find out what it takes to get on with them, and its full police training, then more for the animal training to become a officer. they get 1,000 apps a month for it, but they only have 12, i dont get it!
