I cant take her to get put to sleep until my daughter who is 7 gets home at 3:30 PM. About 2 hours from now. I cant do anything until that time. Everyone I know is at work right now. I work from home so I'm the only here now.

If it were me I wouldn't call the Vet again, I'd just pack up the kitten and take her in.
Like the poster above said, any Vet with a brain isn't going to let that poor dear baby sit in the waiting room and suffer.
Chances are that someone who's already there would allow you to go ahead of them since your in an emergency situation.

We hope the kitten doesn't have to suffer much longer

You did a good thing by helping this kitten out, just try to comfort her till its time to be put to sleep.
Just do something as soon as you can so she can be free from all the pain shes must be feeling

Please update us on what happened with the kitten...

If that vet is closer than the shelter, when your daughter gets home, maybe you can do as the other member suggested and just show up or call the shelter and let them know you are on the way.

I really feel for you and as I said above, thank you for caring.

Vibes for the little kitty.

I am so very sorry that your sweet kitten is in this predicament. Sometimes accidents just happen and there is nothing to be done. Thank you for being compassionate enough to care. I sincerely hope you've gotten some help and reassurance here.

I simply wish there were more people in the world that would feel similar sympathy for these sweet creatures that are meant to be pets. You don't have to be a cat person, a dog person OR an pet person to be compassionate towards the suffering of a creature.

I wish you the absolute best with the vet. I am so glad the little one is surrounded by it's litter mates in it's final hours, I am sure that is comforting to it. Thank you again for caring!

I spent the last 30 minutes with the kitten holding it while it nursed on its mother. It was actually nursing and getting some milk but not like the st of the litter.

I also had some canned cat food that I put on my finger and let it nibble at. It was trying to eat. It can move it's head around and from the looks of it doesn't have any broken bones but of course that doesn't mean it doesnt.

She just looks much weaker than this morning so I dont know what to think. If she makes it till my daughter gets home we will go to the vet and see.

I found it weird that she could still nurse and try to eat in the weakened condition she is in. Hopefully she pulls through. If so she will be our new indoor cat who will be babied by the family everyday.

Your family & your kitties are in my thoughts and prayers this evening. How difficult for you, your children, the mama-kitty, as well as the kitten. I'm so glad that you assisted the kitten in nursing; I am sure that she was given great comfort. As the kitten weakens, she may become less aware of any discomfort that she may be feeling, so that can be Mother Nature's way of helping out. Once, when I was suffering from a black-widow spider bite, the pains and spasms were so terrible, everything just faded in the distance, and it was alot easier to deal with although it really scared my poor mom & the nurses. and after that, I was able to be given morphine.

This situation is sad. I hope you were able to get some help either from the vet or the rescue.

Any news?
