Not sure if this would fit better in care and grooming - please move if it does!

Ok, I guess I just wanna check that this is ok... the other night I was cleaning out the desk in my room cuz so much random junk has collected in there and therefore, more random junk has started to collect on my floor haha... one of the things I pulled out was a key chain... it's one of those like thick plastic ones and it has a picture imbedded in the middle (This happens to be one from Hawaii that my grandmom got me) and it just has a small, thick single metal ring in the top... well "someone" *ahem big orange monster ahem* decided he was gonna help with the clean up.... meaning, he's claimed this keychain as his own... I guess he likes the sound the ring makes against the plastic and the fact that it glides across the carpet much luck an ice hockey puck... he doesn't chew on it (he's not really one to put toys in his mouth) and the ring is solid so I don't see it coming apart... I don't really see a problem with this, but am I missing something? Ugh, all the money I spend on his toys and he steals my things, haha.... Thanks

Well, I can't think of anything dangerous about a plastic keychain, can you? Let's see what some of the experts here have to say about it...but I agree, they prefer some of the simple toys we make for them (or they make for themselves) to the expensive kind! They're sure smart...

Could it actually fit in his mouth were he to try?

I tend to be a bit paranoid about anything that could be a choking hazard after having a cat choke on a small furry mouse toy years ago. So my cats toys are like what you'd give a toddler, no small toys/parts that can fit inside the mouth.

I think it'd take a WHOLE lot of work for him to swallow this thing whole... it's about 2.5" long and at it's widest about 1.5" and about a quarter inch thick.... he's also very picky about what he puts in his mouth/eats... and I check his toys out quite regularly, so if it looks like any part of it is breaking or coming loose, I'd take it away from him and he'd just have to deal with it haha
