I ask because we went to see him the other night and I knew exactly one song of his before the gig. Well that guy can put on one hell of a show! He played for almost 2 and a half hours and he was full of energy.

I heard he tried to get a political message across in a couple of his gigs in the USA but he didn't do anything like that with us. He did sing a traditional Irish song though!

LOOOOOVVVVE RUFUS! And his version of Hallelujah is so beautiful -- a close second to the Buckley (for me). I also love "Oh, What A World!" He has such a sense of humor, and such a voice.

I've never seen him, though -- saw his dad (Loudon Wainwright) years ago, but never Rufus.

I haven't heard his version of Hallelujah. I'm a big fan of that song, mainly Jeff buckley's but I like Leonard Cohen's original too.

If you get a chance go see Rufus!

I like Rufus Wainwright a lot, but he is not a much fun as his dad. I guess he is just more serious and politically motivated. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
One of my all time favorite songs is by Loudon Wainwright, called Heaven and Mud. It is about reformed smokers and drinkers.
