Hi! My name is Mezlo (Mez for short) and I am a first-time cat owner. About a month ago I got Junior from the local shelter. He is approximately 8 months old and is simply adorable and big! He's a brown/gray tabby, weighs approximately 10 pounds, and can just reach the top of the 32" scratching post I got if he stands on his tiptoes.

The first 2 weeks with me were a bit rough on him. During the first week I started noticing blood in his stool. The vet did a fecal lab and it tested positive for something (I can't remember what it was, but the vet said it was most likely caused by stress). The vet gave me 5 days worth of Albon and it cleared it up. Junior didn't like the Albon and I hated having to force it on him but it was for the best. Just as I was finishing with the Albon, I took Junior in to get neutered. He certainly didn't appreciate that and pretty much avoided me for the rest of the week.

Since then it's been great. While he started out sleeping behind the couch, he now sleeps in my bed. Whenever I roll over during the night, he stands on my chest and insists on some petting and face rubbing before settling back down. He loves playing with the various toys I've gotten (his favorite is a $0.99 foil mouse that's about 2 inches long). He also really loves chasing a laser pointer around as well as several small toys I've attached string to and drag around the house.

Anyway, I just wanted to introduce Junior to everyone here. I've posted pictures of him on my brother's website if you're interested.

I forgot to mention that he appears to have been very well trained in the past. When I'm petting him and do something he doesn't like, he just wraps my hand up with all for paws. He doesn't use his claws or even try to bite. If I persist, he simply runs off. I really couldn't ask for a cat with better people etiquette.
