My three year old Max has started meowing at the apt door to go into the hallway. He is neutered and healthy. I have always opened the door coming home from work and he runs out for a second but comes back in. This has been going on for years. Now, in the last month, he meows constantly at the door when Im home.

Do I ignore it or let him out to sniff the hallway???

Personally, I agree with indoor-only advocates and would not let him explore the hallway, as it may be asking for trouble in the long run. He should be perfectly happy inside, if he has enough stimuli. He's certainly safer inside, and healthier!

I agree; if you want to keep him as an indoor only cat the more you let him out the further he will push to go.
