Hi there. I just adopted a kitten (about 5 1/2 months) yesterday from a woman who took her in and got the cat all her shots, spayed her, etc. The woman's family had wanted to keep it, but she's allergic to cats and already has about 10 miscellaneous primates and monkeys in her backyard rescue clinic that she's carring for.
My new cat is very sweet, purrs non-stop, and I can hardly sit down without her jumping in my lap. I had a cat when I was growing up--Bacardi, who lived to be at least 18 and died about ten years ago--but it's been a long time since I've taken care of one. I plan to name this one Bailey (as in Baileys Irish Cream) and do my best to play with her until she's exhausted. By the end of the week she'll probably pine for a little boredom.
I go to school during the day and live in a tiny apartment, but fortunately I live close to campus so I should be able to sneak in every few hours and make sure she hasn't rent my betta fish asunder. She's got a lot of toys already, has the hang of the litter box (thank god), and knows that I'm a pushover when it comes to begging for table scraps.
I guess Bailey is a silver tabby. judging from other photos I've found on the internet. She is also not wall-eyed, but such is the nature of flash photography.
