Just wondering how far along my Mom Chrissy might be...I got her 10 days ago and she seems to have doubled in size since then...

Probably has 2-3 weeks more before kittens. In another week, I'd start confining her to one room or a large cage/crate and prepare the nesting box. Too many are caught off guard and the cat picks a spot you don't want them to pick.

With my breeding rexes, I knew when they were bred and about 2 weeks before due, they were caged. They were content and didn't try to move the kittens any time - kept them all in the cage with mom being allowed after a week to have free access to and from the cage.

My kitty is pregnant too and I have no idea how far along she is.
She is already snooping around the house looking for a nesting place.

Racemom17, would you mind terribly if I posted pics of my kitty on here to see what people think?

Not at all...post away...Chrissy has been hanging out in a litterbox the last 2 nights when we are home...she is in her nesting area in the day when we are gone...hope that means she is gearing up for birth...I haven't seen movement yet but she won't let me touch her belly still.

Don't let her give birth in the litter box. If the litter gets stuck on the kittens, then your cat won't clean them off and they could suffocate because the fluid will still be over their nose and mouths.

I'm sure you know all this....

Oh yeah, is your cat small? Ziggy is smaller than usual and she was about that size when she gave birth. I'm sure she's bigger now isn't she
Post updated photos so we can have a look. Are they moving around much?

This litter box is one she only has access to when I am home...the one in her room is so teeny she can hardly do her business in it...
Chrissy is very small...this afternoon for the first time I saw baby movement...YAY

The first time? You're looking at about 2 weeks now then perhaps a little more. Ziggy gave birth 12 days after the babies started moving around enough to notice. Just wait until there's REALLY moving in there. It's so wierd, but you just can't stop looking!!! I filmed it!!! But it didn't come out very well.

She is so pretty.... cant you keep her so I can look at her pictures all the time?

Don't mean to alarm you, and you can't really tell without an ultrasound, but I think you may have quite a few kittens in there... Shes very big, and for them just to start moving?

I think maybe 4...my Mom cat earlier this season was a little larger than her pre-pregnancy...and I didn't think she would have more than 3 but she had 5 :-)
