Congratulations to Mr Al Gore - Page 2

but don't you think that of all the rewards they've given, the good and deserved far outweigh the ones that were given to people who later made mistakes, or perhaps changed their colors? The Nobel prize gives recognition to a lot of people and works that otherwise would not be brought to the attention of the public

No...apparently the `experts' don't know what they are talking about. Hmm, if they don't, then who does, I wonder? I'm sure all the people out there criticising this award have soooo much more knowledge about the nominees and the final winners than the actual panel themselves.

Well, I for one was very touched and pleasantly surprised to see someone who has often been outspoken against Gore (and not always unfairly) start a thread here genuinely congratulating him for making a very valuable contribution to this planet, its people and its future. Forgetting about politics and personal likes and dislikes for five minutes and just standing up and saying, `Hey, I don't always agree with what you do, but there's no denying you've done a darn fine job in this regard, and good for you, and here's a pat on the back for getting some recognition for it'.

Seems to me if everyone could be as fair and honest and reasonable as Cindy has been by starting this thread, the world would be quite a different place.

QUIT that Sarah, I am just as irascible as ever.

I am so glad someone with money and power of sorts is finally helping the world to see what we are doing to it. It makes me sad to think our world could be dead before my future children could ever enjoy it.
