I just noticed this little thing that Skye has been doing lately. After she has had her fill of her food she "digs" like as she would in the litter box around her food/water bowl.

She's hiding it from any other kitties?

Was she a stray or what? My stray kitty always covers up her food with whatever she can find.. including my shoes

Not to my knowledge. Her paper said she came from a home with too many cats.

Knee deep in cat litter
It is a natural instinct to try to bury their food to save it for later. No matter if they have been out in the wild or not. We have two cats that do this...one was a stray for a bit and the other was not.

Ya but she's so young I figured she wouldn't even remember. Because she was a tiny lil thing when we got her.

Some of my kitties do that too, and they've never had to fend for their food. I was told once that the cats that are higher in rank will "hide" the food so that no one will steal it. Don't know if that's true or not. Could be just a quirk I guess!

Cosmo does that all the time. And when he finishes with his bowl, he goes to Sophie's and Mollie's and does the same thing! He is a Ragdoll, he isn't supposed to have those instincs!
