Abby was vomiting quite a bit this morning. She was having a hard time keeping food down. I commented to Aaron that I needed to keep a close eye on her because she may have swallowed something overnight that is causing an obstruction or she may have eaten something toxic. He gave me "the look" and said "Maybe she is just eating too fast and being a pig". Thankfully I think he was right.
I've been watching her like a hawk and she has kept some treats and water down. She is acting normally now.

It's great that we all have all gained so much knowledge here and know of warning signs, but this knowledge make anyone other than me overreact?

Oh tooooooooooooootally

I am forever staring at Trout and feeling her thoroughly while petting her to make sure I don't see or feel anything weird.

She doesn't vomit at all...ever...unless she is sick. So, when she does vomit, it gets me on edge.

that's funny! I actually try to downplay everything as much as I can, otherwise I would freak out over every sneeze or cough.... TCS does make me thank my lucky stars that my crew is so well behaved though

Not really. I think that the knowledge and useful tips I have and can gain here keep me at being a more alert meowmy than before. I use to pass things off as "Oh that's just them being a cat...they'll get it over it" etc.
However since joining TCS really its done more good than harm for our cats.

Not really - been around cats for a long time and with breeding/showing, etc. pretty much know when it serious enough to call the vet.

I remember stopping the routine "worm" checking on every cat because I knew enough of the signs. None of them ever had tape or roundworms, so I wasn't gonna waste money to have them checked
And skipping a meal or two was not something to worry - if they didn't perk up in a day or two then I'd call the vet for a checkup.

I'm ready to take my cats straight to the vet everytime they're saying "miuuuu" when they are using the litterbox. I'm sure they are very, very sick

Yes!
You have no idea how many horrifying things I could come up with for Damita to have wrong with her!

I think I do get that way if I do notice something out of the ordinary going on with my girls! But then I think I've just become much more knowledgeable about what could mean something is wrong. Eh, it's a good thing for the most part I think.

Yes!! Before I joined TCS I knew virtuall nothing about cats. Now I'm contantly afraid of them getting sick and not being able to convince someone to drive me to the vet...
Nothing bad has happened yet so I shouldn't worry so much, but of course I do anyway!

More paranoid, yes, but I have to say more informed too! There have been a couple of times when people have mentioned issues with their cats, and I've been correct about what it turned out to be (and I always tell them to go to the vet
).

I've done that too.
I got it right before her vets did, unfortunately.
BUT the good thing was that I printed out some information about feline asthma (her vet said Angel just had a cold...), so she knew what she was seeing when Angel was having a BAD asthma attack and when Angel needed to be rushed to the emergency vet because it could be life threatening. She acted fast, and they got Angel in an oxygen tent and she's OK now (and has asthma medication on hand and knows how to administer the rescue inhaler).

If one of mine starts hacking it's usually a hairball, or like Abby when they've gulped down their food. I've seen Rosie being sick and some of the kibbles have still been whole
If ever their like that i usually can't wait to get back home to see that their ok, which thank God, they usually are.

I'm so pleased we have TCS, because no matter how much knowledge we think we have about cats, were learning here every day through everyone

I was paranoid before, but i think it is because I "lost" my girl one time before. . . She is so succeptible to getting sick that if her ears are a little warm (usually from plaing speed racer up and down the hall) I freak out . . .

But TCS helps out alot to gain knowledge!

I won't go as far as paranoid but I do have a tendency to worry too much.

If Chester started throwing up I would probably freak out. Then stress out about cleaning it up and worry about how I would get him to the vet.

But in my own defense I have learned a lot from reading on this site. Which does help with the worry about the smaller things.

I'm just paranoid by nature. I think TCS has helped me a lot to be more informed, and I've usually found the more informed get, the more paraniod I get. (Ignorance is bliss?)
