Callie is our newly adopted kitty (5 month old spayed female). Every since we got her, about 3 weeks ago, her tongue sticks out. It sticks out about 80% of the time. On the second day we had her, took her to the vet for check-up and told vet about this. Looked like nothing but just tongue sticking out and he said it may just be a quirk for her.
Now....time has gone on and this has become really noticable within the past week or so......She has a gap in the front of her mouth between the top and bottom lip! It seems to be getting more and more open. You really notice it when her tongue is not sticking out. The best way I can describe it is it looks like a snakes mouth. You know how a snake has a gap in front of it's mouth and the tongue comes through and flickers? Thats what it looks like! She is eating & drinking just fine. But I have noticed that when she drinks I can see that her tongue is really unusually long. Our other cat's (Abby 6 yrs. old) is no where near that long. We go to the vet next week for set of shots and I am going to show this to our vet, but I wanted to know if anybody else has experienced this?
