How does that work?

We usually have a party, and we also get anywhere from 150-200 treaters coming around, so I dress up.

This year, if I get off my butt and start it, will be an 18th c. fancy "Marie Antoinette" dress (got the pattern on ebay). However, instead of the usual pastels for the time period, it will be black tafetta (also from ebay!). The underskirt (or "petticoat") will be a lovely ruched, puffy garnet red silky fabric, as will the "stomacher" (period term for the inverted triangle, front of the bodice, pointed-end piece of fabric. They were detachable, and usually some rich, embroidered/jeweled silk fabric or damask). I'm putting 3 large, black sheer ribbon bows across the stomacher. I also got an authentic wig (ebay); it's honey-blonde, and tall, with sausage curls over the shoulder.

I resisted the temptation to go "headless", carrying a head tucked under my arm...
I figured it was nothing to lose my head about...

Last year, I had the best of intentions to make a copy of an actual 1920's Halloween fancy ball dress, copied from a period magazine picture; that got stuffed in a bag, as that's when I found out my cat had a terminal illness, so I moped around, and didn't care. I did, at the last minute, get a medieval woman's costume at Walmart.

Love it! I like to read about ole Jack, and this is a very original idea!

I have no idea what i'm going to wear
I'm not sure what i'm doing yet eithor! I may stay here and pass out candy to the children, but i might go to my sister's house as well for a little while- she's having a halloween party for the neighborhood kids (so they have a safe alternative)

Probably a coffee stained wife-beater and some ugly old sweat shorts.
But then again, that what I always wear when I'm at home

That shadow idea sounds fun!
I did something similar last Halloween while I was 5 months pregnant (Still wasn't showing it!). I wore this all black warlock costume (I know warlock is a guy witch but I had to improvise!), put a cloak over myself and hid in the bushes. And when the trick or treaters came to get the candy, I would silently run up behind them and scare the living daylights out of them!
Their parents always saw me before they did but never said anything, it was so funny!

When I was pregnant I dressed up as a dead pregnant mom.
It was totally gory!

I ripped one of my maternity shirts and had blood and fake skin hanging off of me. And my ex dressed up as the serial killer who offed me. Yeah, the whole family is twisted

I Play it so well
I should so get that for my husband! LOL

I'm making a set of black ears and a tail and going as..... bet you'll never guess.... a cat! We don't go out or pass candy (we live in an apartment complex where the kids are rude, obnoxious and ungrateful!) so I'll only be dressing up a little for work. In addition to the ears and tail I'm thinking of making furry wrist warmers and painting a nose and wiskers on my nose/face.

I live by Disneyland and all this moth Disneyland is having a Halloween Party. My dads 55th b-day is on the 19th and he is retireing on the 29th. For his b-day/retireing the entire family is going to the Disneyland Halloween Party. I LOVE Eeyore so I'm going to wear Eeyore PJ's, Eeyore slippers, and an Eeyore backpack that looks like a stuffed animal. It will be real comfortable and when I get home past midnight, I will already have my PJ's on so I could just go right to bed. My twin sister (IBelongInTheZoo) is wearing the same thing but it is all PoohBear instead of Eeyore.

ooh I love Halloween!! Last year BF and I were Bonnie and Clyde... this year I think we may be hippy stoners (he wanted to be Cheech and Chong but I refuse to dress like a man, I like looking cute!! lol)... not really 100% yet... I should get moving though, we go to a friend's party every year the weekend before and have one ourselves Halloween night!

Hey, combining costumes is awesome too. I saw this one girl a few year ago who couldn't decide being a fairy or a space girl, so she was a space faerie!

I'm going to be dressing up in scrubs just like an L&D nurse. How is that different than any other day? It's not...I have to work.

I did something similar to that one year too!

I wore a shirt that said "Angel Or Devil?"
I had on Devil horns and angel wings with a halo attached. I also had the pitchfork with a harp wired onto it and a devil tail.

I sprayed glitter all over me too.....
THAT was fun
