I got a new kitten today. She is 8 to 10 weeks old. I bought her from a store that said they had had her for a while. Im taking her to the vet this week to have her looked at. She is up-to-date on shots. The store said they had been feeding her science diet, so i went out and bought a bag of that. Is science diet a good food for cats? Is there anything i should look out for?

Thank you

There are far better foods then Science Diet. Read some of the food threads in here.

I like Royal Canin Kitten food. Be sure to include canned foods too with the dry.

If the kitten is only 8-10 weeks old, it only has first shots - will need 2-3 more over the next few weeks. And if you got it out of a petshop at that age, the kitten was taken from mom/siblings far too young!

Ideally kittens should stay with mom/siblings for a good 10-12 weeks before going to new homes. I'm assuming this is an only cat - so be prepared for possible behavior/social problems in the next few months. Might be a good idea to think about adopting an older kitten 4-6 months old soon so they can grow up socially and be better cats. And also schedule the kitten to be spayed/neutered by 4 months old.

Yes, i did buy her from a pet shop. I used to have another cat (that died 3 months ago) that I bought from this same pet shop 6 years ago. She is the same age my old cat was when i adopted her. She's extremely clingy and but very sweet.

But, now I noticed that i think she has worms. She had a white thing coming out her bum, so im asumming worms. i called the vet and she goes in in the afternoon. I told them I thought she had worms, so it looks like she will prob. be dewormed tomorrow. Just makes me nervous because i have a 3 yr old son and im pregnant, so I dont want us to end up with worms.
