Hello All ! I am so glad I found this forum. Thank you for welcoming me and answering my questions. I have always loved cats but have never had one. I recently witnessed a very ill looking cat run across the street in front of my dry cleaners. Employees said that a woman dumped a box of kittens in the ditch at the street. I was heartbroken. I found the very sick adult cat in the parking lot and it came close then took cover under a bush. Well, this little sick cat got the attention of four women that cared enough to stop and see to it's well being. After much effort the sick cat did not make it. She did however bring some women together and we have now rescued seven adult cats and three kittens from this ditch. Her life was not lost without cause for she brought help to the others. I have three in my home recovering from being spayed/neutered. Now I am one of four women who are humanely trapping, spaying/neutering, rehabilitating when possible and we have coordinated with a local no kill shelter to build an outside sanctuary for the others to live safely. We are working on another feral colony. I came here for guidance in my efforts to help these little lost cats. I am hoping that the cats I have in my home will decide to stay with me. My daughter and her cat lived with us between college and grad school and I really miss having the cat. Our old sheltie misses her, too!
