His name is Sam, and he's a 15 yr old white dsh. He's SUCH a love bug too!
My sister and brother-in-law took in Sam 15 yrs and Lilly 8mo about two months ago on a short term basis while one of my bil's coworkers was moving and staying temporarily with her sister who wouldn't allow her to take her cats. The owner wound up moving in with another person recently who also does not allow cats. It made me furious to hear that someone who has had a cat for 15 yrs since a kitten, would just leave him like that and not give any reguard to where they move,etc. (she had other options aside from moving in with that lady). Instead, she moves into a place where she knowingly can't take her animals (which are a life-long responsibility) and dumps them off on my sis. She said "well they have two options -eithor they find another home or go to the shelter, i'm sure sam will be pts since he's old."
Soo stupid!

Thankfully though- my sister Kimmy is an angel and her and her family have decided to keep Sam and let him live out the rest of his life with them. Lilly will be rehomed to one of my bil's coworkers who absolutely adores her! (she just got spayed last week so she should be ready to go soon). I am happy that my sister and the other person are adopting these two wonderful kitties and giving them a forever home where they will be cared for their entire lives.
My sister just adores Sam too -he's a doll! He sleeps with them, he gives kisses, he's got a funny meow (it's like he's saying "ma mu"
) Aww he's just great! He's already neutered, vaccinated, and in perfect shape too! He looks great for his age! I'm really glad this story doesn't have a bad ending and both kitties found good homes! I just hope that the former owner NEVER adopts another animal if she can not provide care for it and make a life long committment (she's a real heifer). I just can't imagine dumping off my beloved animals on someone else after i've had them for years ya know! I could never move somewhere where i would not be allowed to take my babies
Thankfully though, Sam will be just fine and spoiled rotten now with my sister!

For those of you who are considering adopting at the moment- definitely consider adopting an older pet- they are SOOOO loving and can be very wonderful- many of them have lots of good years left in them too and have great manners!

No, that's not stupid. That's evil. Just plain soulless inhuman evil.

I`m so glad that Sam has found his "FOREVER HOME" with your sis.
I too can`t imagine just giving up our "Boys". We ecpect to be moving before long, and they have been one of our biggest concerns because a lot of places won`t allow animals no matter how much you insist how good yours are.
We found one apartment complex in our town that does allow animals. It`s a $300, non refundable deposit (for the animals alone) plus $25 extra a month....and we are thrilled to pay it just to be able to have a place where they can be with us!!!

Great news! The kitties will be loved in thier new homes. It makes me wonder what kind of attention they were getting with the woman that could just give them away like that. They will be better off with people who love them forever now

Thanks guys. I'm gald ya'll understand why i was upset over the whole thing and the way that woman just didn't care about her pets. Thankfully though- i'm sooo happy my sister is keeping Sam.
I know he's going to be spoiled rotten for the rest of his little life now
And Lilly is supposed to be going to a good new home soon as well -so that's great too!
(she's cute, she's white with a little black on her and acts just as crazy as my kitty, Kojak does
)

Adult/Senior animals really make some of the best pets!!!
Both of our dogs we adopted as adults (Whiskey is approx 8yrs, and Fosters is 4, and Jasmine we adopted as an adult as well
)
