Hi guys

I posted at the weekend in Behaviour about how Harry was very stressed out after we got him back from the cattery last friday. He's really only coming back to himself today and his diarrhoea has only stopped after a diet of boiled chicken and rice for a day.

He is scheduled in for his operation next friday the 19th and I'm considering postponing it for a couple of weeks. I'm just worried that another stress so soon will change his personality forever! Am I right in doing this? He's 6 months and very clean.

Thanks in advance.

It would be reasonable to postpone if he was stressed out or sick, but otherwise you don't have to worry. His personality will remain the same. The only change to his personality you would want to be worried about is the change that *would* occur if he wasn't neutered.

I think it's ok to postpone it. My simba gets stressed out over various things and if he has some type of procedure coming up at the vet and is going thru one of his stressful times, I always postpone it. No use causing double stress!

Yes I think I will. He is showing no signs of tomcat behaviour yet so a couple of weeks shouldn't make too much of a difference. Thanks.

Just keep him inside until he's done; you don't want him adding to the cat population. I think under the circumstances rebook in a few weeks so he can settle down.
