I saw a kitten at a rescue at petsmart a few months back, & I am sort of kicking myself for not adopting him, because I have never seen a cat with the same colors and markings..

I was a medium hair, chocolate color ( no black on him at all), but with thick splotches of dark orange ( darker than any orange on a cat I've see, like a dark pumpkin) He wasn't so much striped as splotched like a ocilot or something) He was so odd, does anyone know of any links or pics of a cat with those colors... he was so beautiful, someone got very lucky!!!

The pattern is classic tabby. With red in the coat, perhaps a patched tabby.

Would almost have to have a picture of the cat in question to tell you the proper color.
If the cat is still there - can you go take a picture and post it?

IMO that's not a chocolate cinnamon tabby - its the proper color of a red tabby. A lot of red tabbys are more faded, but a deep red is an eye-catcher!

I had one deep red classic tabby rex that had outstanding color. And I've seen a deep red classic tabby/white mixed breed that would have done very well in the HHP classes.

I love that classic tabby pattern... around here, you get nothing but plain striped tabbies. (My two are plain striped tabbies--cute but nothing flashy. Their eyes, now... *swoon*!) I think the striped tabby pattern is so common in the US that a classic tabby is special--and so is a cat with a deep red color.

see here the classic tabby is a lot more common then the mackrell tabby SP? so when we see the plain striped its quite something. with the reds we normally get a gingery/orangey colour as to the red colouring.
