Whats For Dinner? Sunday Oct 7, 2007

I didn't see a thread for this today, so I thought I would start one...

Tonight I am making:

Fried chicken breasts (cut into strips)
Baked potatoes
Peas
Fresh Rolls

and for dessert..........

Death by Chocolate Ice Cream

I had a Healthy Choice microwave dinner. General Tso's Chicken. It was ok. Looking forward to real food tomorrow.

Sorry! I forgot to make a thread for tonight! I hate to go back up to the shelter tonight and pass out meds/rewater the dogs so i'm running late today!

Tonight i tried a new recipe :Fusilli & Tomato Cream (it was SOOOO yummy! )

I used:

1 can Hunts Four Cheese spaghetti sauce
Jenny-O's Lean Turkey Bacon (1/2 package- uncooked)
Heavy Cream (1 cup)
Baby Spinach (about 3oz, stems removed, chopped finely) (arugula works instead of spinach too)
Salt & Black Peppercorn
Spicy Season All (just a pinch)
Garlic Salt (just a pinch)
Basil (just a pinch!)
Oregano (just a pinch)
Sage (just a pinch!)
1 package of Dried Fusulli Pasta

Directions:

Heat spaghetti sauce in a large sauce pan over medium heat. While it warms up, cut bacon (you can use prosciutto instead!) into small pieces. Add to the spaghetti sauce. Add 1 cup heavy cream to the mix and stir until its all blended well.

Start cooking your Fusilli pasta in another small pot until it's al'dente (slightly crunchy). (you can use penne or any other pasta you like instead!). While the pasta bowls, add spinach to sauce until it's slightly wilted. (about a minute of cooking time). Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and then add it to the sauce and mix everything well!

Voila! Dinner

We are having Pork chops, green bean casserole, and french bread.

Porter house steaks, shells & cheese macaroni, and a baked potato with butter and ranch dressing.

Flounder in a lemon/white wine sauce with pasta and a tomato sauce. Mmmm

Since I will spending all day tomorrow cooking Thanksgiving dinner, My DH cooked tonight, hotdogs

I had cookies and cheetos. I know, it's terrible for me, but they looked much better then anything else there is around...
