All of my kitties (6) know their names, it is just if they want to come/pay me any attention when I call for them. They all know their nicknames too.

18 out of 20 do - the ones that don't are the 5 week old baby and the newly rescued Cornie which I have re-named....

Yes, all my cats know their names and respond appropriately. Some even "answer" me when I call them

A few times I called one by the wrong name and he/she didn't even look at me. When I used the correct name, they immediately looked up.

All three of mine know their names. Moose will come running when I call him; the other two will sometimes look at me, but always pretend they never heard me.

I have two and they both know their names, including their nicknames. They both look at me and meow when I say their names. Bailey only comes when he wants to. Gio always comes, running and meowing.

Even though their names are really similar they seem to both know them. Polly definitely does and responds as well.
Both cats know my "kitty kitty kitty kitty kitty" call applies to both of them and usually dinner.

Mine all know their names. Sometimes they respond to another cat's name if they know treats or cuddles are involved.

Stimpy will jump up and run over if I say his name and point at him or pat my leg (like you would for a dog). It's so cute!

They all know their names and will at least look when I call them. The only confusion is around dinner time and that's basicly any move or noise I make causes them all to come running regarless of who I'm talking to.

Most of our cats come to their names. If the cat who is called doesn't come -other cats are right on it! As long as it includes lovings! Since we have 8 "S" names, we have to say each name in a certain tone of voice so the cats don't get confused...

all of mine do, except for Firefox... altho she does respond to the 'kissing' noise! the others will at least look at me when i say their names, even if they don't actually 'come'.

Stoli definitely knows his name. If you don't want him to know you are talking about him you have to spell his name.

luxor on the other hand. I've given up hope. He just is clueless.

Gizmo knows her name. If she happens to be walking through the room and you call her she will walk over but she won't go out of her way to get up and come over.

Moochie, Igore, Pennie, Bob, Uno and Button know their names and will come to you if you call them. Bob and Pennie both speak to you as they are running over.

Zagnut will look at you and she will sometimes walk over but since she is leery of the other cats she does not always respond if there are "others" watching.

Beastie Bear knows his name enough to look at you but unless you have food for him he is not to be bothered to actually get up and walk over.

None of them know "kitty kitty" or anything of the sort.

Beastie and Zagnut actually were adopted with other names. They know both their old name and their new name.

Most of my cats also respond to their nicknames.

My cats know their names & will respond. Well usually lol. Sometimes they quite obviously ignore me lol I will say her name and she will just flick her tail and put one ear back and not look at me no matter what like I don't exist lol This is usually after we did something to annoy her or she is just being pissy lol

My other cats always notice though

Though I usually call them with flicking my tongue to make a noise which I think may be impossible to try and spell lol like a ttt kindof thing lol.

It is a magic noise that seems to work on every cat idk.

When I lived with my mom we would let the cats go outside and everynight I wanted them in the house so i would just go outside and call them and they would come running lol

Usually I can just say their name and my cats will come. Well Keeba always comes he just wants to be the center of attention lol

I have always given my pets nicknames they kindof just developed lol And they will respond to those too
Like I used to call Kisa kittykitty but somehow it became kiki lol Or certain words for special things like no one can say nummy unless we are giving them treats because omg they know that word well lol or purrfest lol

I have six cats and all of them know their individual names. I have a backyard and three of my big cats go outside if I call one of their names the one I call will turn around and run upstairs and the other two won't I have to actually call each one of their names for them to come inside and they obey immediately. My smallest cat is very small but she's four years old so she's inside all the time and she is the best at responding to her name she could be asleep hidden in the closet and I called him once or twice and this cat will run from wherever she is and pop up instantly when you call her name. I keep reading these posts on Google and stuff saying that cats don't recognize and respond to their names and in my case that's not true 5 of my cats I actually found outside one of them was like a week old and the six that I adopted from a house and every single one of them respond to their individual names no matter their background or how long I've had them after about two or three months they know their name they respond. People are amazed when they come over to my house and I open the window to call for my cats outside and whatever name I call that's the cat that immediately turns around looks in the window and I'll call her again so I'll run inside and I have to do it individually for each cat stay outside it's pretty incredible

I feed stray cats daily and after about 1 month of calling them by a name is made up, they know it and respond. For example, when I go feed them now and they're hiding in the area, I'll call their name a couple times and they always show up. Rarely do they not reapond
