It's that time of the year again, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

So, here we go again. Click HERE for the daily click to raise money for free mammograms on thebreastcancersite.com.

"Worldwide, breast cancer is the fifth most common cause of cancer death (after lung cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer, and colon cancer). In 2005, breast cancer caused 502,000 deaths (7% of cancer deaths; almost 1% of all deaths) worldwide. Among women worldwide, breast cancer is the most common cancer and the most common cause of cancer death.

In the United States, breast cancer is the third most common cause of cancer death (after lung cancer and colon cancer). In 2007, breast cancer is expected to cause 40,910 deaths (7% of cancer deaths; almost 2% of all deaths) in the U.S. Among women in the U.S., breast cancer is the most common cancer and the second most common cause of cancer death (after lung cancer). Women in the U.S. have a 1 in 8 lifetime chance of developing invasive breast cancer and a 1 in 33 chance of breast cancer causing their death."

My work has a whole line of clothes, accesorries, stationary etc for breast cancer. 15% of proceeds go towards it. They are also asking customers to donate their points (from a card we swipe to give points with purchases) to breast cancer.

I have two pins that I wear on my lab coat at work. The first one is a heart shaped flag pin that I've worn since 9/11/01. The other pin is a pink breast cancer awareness ribbon pin. I doubt that I will ever want to remove either one.

It still says I don't have enough points to get a ribbon.

Edit: Oh never mind, I figured it out.

My mother passed away from breast cancer on January 24, 2000. Honestly, I've just this year come to terms with it enough to really start wanting to show my support. I have a breast cancer awareness rubber duckie that lights up, and a rhinestone pink ribbon pin.
My only problem is that I just plain don't like pink.
Never have.

I click at the BreastCancerSite every day (it's just another tab for TheAnimalRescueSite
so it's a daily habit).

I clicked today!

While we're on the topic of breast cancer and organizations that help support research for a cure....www.savethetatas.com is a WONDERFUL website that helps too!
I have a "save the tata's" bumber magnet from there and i also order gifts from their site for friends/family to help spread the word and raise awareness!
They have some really creative/fun stuff that helps to spread the word and raise support!
