I am introducing my new kitty, Butzie. We adopted her from the local shelter after we lost our big, beautiful male, Brownie.
He was 12 and adopted us. I took care of him, even had him neutered, but he still lived mostly outside. We had a great relationship. One day he did not come home for dinner and I was worried. After a week, I knew he was gone. 2 other cat owners lost their cats around then, so we figured a coyote got them (and we live in suburbia!). Wasn't going to get another cat (have 3 budgies) but I missed Brownie so much. Went to the shelter looking for another big, black male and came home with a 2-year old little female, tiger with white markings. Butzie is definitely an indoor cat, litter trained (Brownie did everything outside) and very affectionate. I can't imagine how she wound up at the shelter; she is very lovey and was even fixed. She loves me and tolerates my boys - hubby, son and budgies. With our daughter away at college, she is the only other girl in our house. She talks to me all the time, too. I really love
my little girl.

Hello & welcome to the forum. My 16 yo torty cat, Coco, lives with my mum ever since my son brought home his dog. I wasn't going to get another cat & concentrate on the dogs. Then a year ago my youngest son saw someone tip something out of a plastic bag. When he went to investigate he found a 3 week old kitten. Blossom has made such a difference to our lives, I can't imagine not having her. It amazes me that someone could throw away such a beautiful little kitten.
I'm glad you found you new kitty at a shelter. She is very lucky you found each other, some things are meant to be.
Look forward to hearing all about her & seeing pics.

Welcome to TCS!

You discovered one of the most wonderful things about shelters, that many wonderfu, purr-fect cats end up their through human error.
