I went to feed Tyler just now and found his good eye with a swirl of blood in it. I don't see any color change in the rest of the eye, so hopefully it's not uveitis (which we went through with his other eye, along with a bleed into that eye, he has maybe 30% vision left in that eye). However, I don't want it to be due to a blood pressure spike either - he's already on norvasc twice a day for his bp.

I'll be calling in the am for an emergency apt. with our vet

ps for those that don't know him, Tyler is my great-grandson of the very first American Curl - Shulamith. His 18th birthday is coming up and he's been doing well despite early crf, history of spilling glucose in his urine, hyperthyroidism and benign liver tumors.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
That must have been such a shock for you, Pat, to go to Tyler and find his eye with a swirl of blood in it. Smart move to get him into the Vet ASAP. Hopefully, you'll be able to take him first thing in the morning. I do so hope this is nothing serious, and I'll be waiting to hear his report. Please be well, Tyler!

Oh Pat, Tyler has such beautiful eyes and is such a loving soul. I hope you have good news waiting after the vet visit. He is ahead of the game, he has you in his corner. He's been through so much, both of you have, you both deserve a rest.

I went to check on Tyler again, pm meds and another feeding. There are more changes to the eye, so I think at least part of what is happening, is a uveitis, it reminds me of when this happened with his left eye.

I also think he has gone blind. He is off balance, and seems uncertain..both pupils are very dilated. I know we'll know a lot more tomorrow, just needed to post.

Oh Pat, I know that this is so hard for you.

I am holding you and Tyler in my thoughts this morning.

Tyler's eye is no worse this morning, which I am happy about. I was concerned there would be more blood or that the eye color would have completely changed due to the uveitis I think is going on.

DH will be taking him in soon (we are in the middle of a bathroom remodel and I can't drive right now due to the knees..the contractor is doing the work on weekends, and dh had to go buy the floor/tub tiles - but it's a close store and we know what we want and that they have it in stock..should be a very quick trip.) Hopefully by 10-11 am, he'll be at the vets.

I'll post once they are back.

My husband is so sweet...he's at the vets with Tyler, and took his laptop..called me and set up a video conference link. I can see/hear him and he can see/hear me, so I can "be" there when the vet comes in to see Tyler, ask my questions, etc.

Cool beans! The other good to hear thing is that Dh said Tyler was reacting to the sunlight in the front sitting area (before they were taken to a room), so that must mean he has some vision.

More once we've spoken to the vet.
